Congratulations to Jack and Miles for being our first two competitors making their way into the second round. Nearly all of you picked Jack and Miles in the brackets, so these results hardly come as a surprise. Based on Rodrigo Santoro's popularity in Brazil, I knew there would be a handful of Paulo supporters, but who would have thought there were over 250 die-hard Harper fans?
Jack: 91% (selected on 99.7% of all brackets) Harper: 9% (selected on 0.02% of all brackets)
Miles: 93% (selected on 98.2% of all brackets) Paulo: 7% (selected on 1.7% of all brackets)
The brackets have been updated and there are a whopping 1191 out of 1214 contestants in the running for the perfect bracket after Day 1. Will today's feature fights mix things up a bit in the standings? Only one way to find out!
Both of today's matchups feature characters who have faced off before on the show, each one ending with lethal results. Will the outcomes be the same this time around? Your votes will decide!
Juliet Burke A gifted fertility doctor, Juliet was recruited by the Others in 2001 to help combat and solve the pregnancy crisis on the Island. Despite her best efforts, she could do nothing to correct the problem. She had an affair with Goodwin, drawing the ire of both Harper and Ben. She was used to gain Jack’s trust in an attempt to convince him to perform surgery on Ben. She eventually defected from the Others and joined the Losties. She was last seen on the beach with Sawyer just before the Island disappeared.
Danny Pickett A seemingly high ranking member of the Others, Pickett was in charge of the labor forces at the Hydra station. He oversaw the captivity of both Kate and Sawyer, neither of which he liked. When his wife Colleen was killed, Pickett took his rage out on Sawyer, nearly killing him. When Kate and Sawyer were allowed to escape, Pickett followed them with the intention of killing them both. He tracked them down but was shot and killed by Juliet before he could hurt them.
Sayid Jarrah A survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Sayid has employed a number of skills from his military training to help the Losties. A former Iraqi Republican Guard communications officer and torturer, Sayid has acted as both a leader and a follower, going on many different missions and journeys while on the Island. He was one of six Losties to escape the Island. He was reunited with his long-lost love Nadia, but became an assassin for Ben after she was murdered in LA. Sayid was last seen breaking Hurley out of the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute.
Elsa A seemingly innocent personal assistant to a powerful economist in Berlin, Elsa was really a spy trying to subvert Sayid’s mission of killing her boss. She led Sayid to believe that she was in love with him, never once blowing her cover. When Sayid finally came clean with his mission, she shot him in the shoulder. While leaving him alone to call her boss, Sayid created a distraction and shot and killed her when she came back into the room.
