Congratulations to Hurley and Keamy for their blowout victories yesterday. Their victories leave us with 686 bracketeers tied for first place yet.
Hurley: 95% (selected on 99.6% of all brackets)
Nadia: 5% (selected on 0.3% of all brackets)
Keamy: 93% (selected on 97.6% of all brackets)
Omar: 7% (selected on 2.3% of all brackets)
Today's matchups will be another bracket buster of sorts. Our first matchup features a newcomer going against an Island heavyweight. Our second matchup is between another Oceanic 6 member and the supposed head honcho of the Others. This second matchup could see some excitement as it is the closest matchup percentage-wise among the brackets. Who will come out on top and how many of our bracketeers will be left holding onto a perfect bracket? Cast a vote, leave a comment and we'll find out!
The brackets have been updated, so check out your score and see if you hang onto perfection for one more day!
Ray
A crew member of the freighter, Ray served as the ship’s physician. He tended to Desmond when he arrived on the freighter experiencing bizarre symptoms. His body washed up on the Island mysteriously, causing concern amongst the Losties. Oddly enough, Ray seemed to still be alive and on the freighter when Daniel asked about him. Ray was killed when Keamy slit his throat in a rage-driven attempt to get Frank to take his strike team back to the Island.
The Smoke Monster
Possibly one of the Island’s most early inhabitants, the Smoke Monster is one of Lost’s ongoing mysteries. Nobody knows exactly what it is, although Ben Linus seems to be privy to more information about it than he lets on. In the few times we have seen it, Smokey appears capable of temporarily manifesting itself into other things, such as people or things from someone’s past, as well as scanning the minds of those it encounters. The Smoke Monster has killed several people it has confronted and it seems that it can be called for as evidenced by Ben.
Sun-Hwa Kwon
The daughter of a wealthy corporate executive, Sun survived the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. Before coming to the Island, Sun was planning on leaving her husband Jin and fleeing to America to start a new life. After the crash, Sun helped Jin learn some English and she became pregnant with Jin’s child. This put her life in danger as pregnant women die on the Island, but Sun escaped as one of the Oceanic 6, but without her husband. She has since taken over her father’s company and was last seen discussing the Island in London with Charles Widmore.
Jacob
One of the Island’s mysteries, Jacob is some kind of supernatural being who resides in a run-down looking cabin. Jacob has only been seen by us twice, once when Ben took Locke to see him and when Hurley stumbled upon it in the jungle. Jacob has only appeared for a split-second either time. Ben claims that Jacob is the true leader of the Others and that they get their orders from him. Invoking Jacob’s name seems to snap the Others back into line fairly quickly.
