Lost - Blu-ray Disc Version of 3rd Season To Have Exclusive BD-Java Extra

Thanks to TvShowsOnDVD for the info.

Lost - The Complete 3rd Season: The Unexplored Experience is coming to both DVD and Blu-ray Disc on December 11th, and our friends over at HiDefDigest.com have revealed that those of you who get the Blu-ray version, will get a little something extra. Besides the great-looking Hi-Definition picture, that is. For most of us, the chance to see Lost in beautiful "HDTV" mode on Blu-ray (which DVD can't match) is bonus enough. But, like many hi-def TV-on-DVD releases for either format, Disney is taking a step beyond the picture, and providing the Blu-ray Disc version with an additional extra.

The Blu-ray version of Lost - The Complete 3rd Season is still going to be "The Unexplored Experience", including all the bonus material originally reported for the DVD edition:

* "The World of the Others"
The secrets and mysteries of the Others revealed by the cast and producers
* "Lost Flashbacks"
Never-before-seen glimpses into the past lives of the castaways
* "Lost in One Day"
An exclusive behind-the scene look at 24 hours in the life of this series
* "Lost on Location"
A behind-the-scenes look at 10 episodes
* "The Lost Book Club"
Get hints to the significance of the show's literary references
* Deleted Scenes
* Bloopers
* Audio Commentaries

However, the report at the Hi-Def Digest website says that the Blu-ray Disc version also will contain this extra bonus feature, and these hi-def specs:

In addition, the Blu-ray edition will exclusively include an as yet unnamed, BD-Java-enhanced interactive feature which Disney promises will allow fans to "...rethink what they know about Lost and change the way they watch the show -- viewers will decipher truth from conjecture through an interactive control panel unlocking the mysterious world of Lost." Tech specs include 1080p transfers and uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround audio on all 22 episodes.

Are you as intrigued as we are? Then don't wait: pre-order your copy at Amazon.com right away, and save 30% by locking in their current $86.95 price!

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 15 & 16 (**Closed**)

Here we are, the final day of Round 2. As I said before, the Character Cup WILL continue as normal through the Labor Day weekend. Hopefully our voter turnout isn't affected to badly by the holiday weekend.

With no surprise at all, we congratulate Locke and Desmond (who many thought were paired against each other) for crushing the competition. It doesn't mean that we don't love Penny and Libby, it just means that we love Locke and Desmond that much more. Anywho, they move on, leaving only 2 more spots to fill. These spots will be filled by minor characters, as decided by tonight's matchups.

In matchup #1, we see a man who has appeared on the Island, off the Island, in flashbacks and in realitme taking on a woman who appears to have some control over time and/or destiny. Ethan Rom and Ms. Hawking vie for the title of the most interesting yet freaky minor character.

In matchup #2, the only remaining non-human characters battle for bragging rights. Will Vincent dig a grave for the Smoke Monster, or will Smokey smite the little puppt like the mighty smiter it is?

And be sure to make some nominations for the 'Best in Show' award for Round 2 in the comments section!

Also, just a word to preface Round 3, we will be moving to a 1 matchup per day schedule from here on out, as there will only be 8 matchups next round. That and we want to keep ourselves preoccupied during the hiatus as long as we can, right?

Okay, go vote!

More info on the Lost Game

31st August: 14:50 GMT
Peacefrog has kindly sent us a more detailed description based on the magazine article.

Update: 31st August
Thanks to Leslie's a Bitchin Name for posting some additional information over in the Media Mentions section of the site.

Thanks to peacefrog for the following info on the new lost game.

This month's EGM magazine has a 4 page art. on the Game. Not much new info but they interview D&C about the way the story differs from the shows story. The game will cover the arc of a new charactor, Elliot, from the plane crash to the "answer" for this charactor. They hint that the game will include tons of easter eggs for fans, and may hint at answers for the show.

They plainly state however that no show answers would be given away, out of respect for the shows fans. The game will be seven 1 1/2 hour episodes with cliffhangers, playable flashbacks, cameos from most of the majors, and will cover seasons 1-3 from Elliots perspective. One cool thing to note was that D&C said that we will be visiting places that we may have wanted to see in the show, but never will. One example given was the area behind the cement wall in the hatch.

The hatch is gone now, but in the game the player will get to explore more thoroughly, and may even get to see where this magnetic force comes from!

The game runs on UBISOFTS Ghost recon advanced warfighter game engine, and is due around the same time as season 4. Hope this is news to you. Thanks, Peacefrog

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 13 & 14 (**Closed**)

Congratulations to Ben and Hurley, who both easily won their matchups. Richard Alpert and Tom will definitely be missed, but their elimination now will provide us with a more exciting Round 3.

Speaking of excitement, tonight's matchups have been both highly anticipated and highly dreaded. One last Main vs. Main? *gasp!* That means Locke vs. Desmond, right? Wrong!

THE FINAL MAIN VS. MAIN MATCHUP OF ROUND 2 IS DESMOND VS. LIBBY!!!

Congratulations to the few of you who either realized or suspected my ruse. No, I do not consider Libby a main character, but to freak you all out, and add some weight to the tournament, I accepted Lostpedia's billing of Libby as a main character, just this once. Otherwise, the last few matchups of Round 2 would have been predictable and less interesting. Mwa ha ha! I am evil, but it was fun, wasn't it- thinking two heavyweights were duking it out?

Anyway, tonight's other matchup pits John Locke against Desmond's girl. It's more than likely that this is Penny's last stand, but who knows? Maybe a legion of angry and determined Desmond fans will oust one of the early favorites.

We'll just have to wait and see. :->

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Since we have a large American contingent of voters, I wanted to take the time to alert you all to the fact that the Character Cup WILL continue to run over the Labor Day weekend, and on Labor Day itself. So, be sure to check out the site and vote amongst your festivities.

The Weekly Deleted Scene - "A Deal’s a Deal"

Deleted from "Outlaws"

[Kate and Sawyer return from their boar hunt.]

Kate is returning from her boar hunt with Sawyer and she's arguing about having carte blanche with Sawyer's stuff.

KATE: A deal’s a deal.
SAWYER: The deal was for toiletries.
KATE: No, carte blanche, whatever I want. And I want the gun.
SAWYER: I didn’t kill the damn hog.
KATE: You said you wanted help to find it, we found it.
SAWYER: [stopping] Jack asked me for the gun two days ago. That why you came on this trek? To do your doctor boyfriend a favour?
KATE: You asked for help, I helped you. You don’t like the deal, it’s not my problem.
[Kate walks off. Sawyer looks angry/hurt.]

Lost wins at E! Online’s Tater Top Awards Show

My friend The ODI was lucky enough to be at E!Online's Tater Top Awards. Below is his blog post from the event. Looks like the fans picked Lost in most of the categories. We'll have the full results here later when they are published by E!Online. For now here is The ODI's summary of the event.

Yes that is right all...I said the Tater Tops Awards...

What the hell are the Tater Top Awards you ask....?? Well they are E! Online with Kristin's annual TV awards show.....think of it as a fun version of the Emmy's some even see it as a spoof, but at least the people that matter....the fans get to vote for who should win...

There are your traditional Best Drama/Comedy/Actor/Actress categories, but also some fun categories such as Best Kiss/Chemistry/Baddie/Line and so forth....

For those of you that do NOT know who Kristin is....well she is one of the few lucky reporters that has a chance to visit sets of various TV shows including LOST and usually gets the inside scoop and spoilers first...

So about the Awards Show.....I was one of the lucky few that had a chance to attend (thanks to Ilsa with Lost-Forum.com) and be apart of the whole show at the E! Networks Studios...!!

It was a great time and LOST was the Top winner brinning home a total of 8 Golden Taters....including Best Drama, Baddie, Kiss, Chemistry, Shocking Moment and a few others....plus the coveted Top Tater Award for most awards won....!!

I did meet Kristin and she was a great host and is a wonderful person....I even got some on screen love AND was able to hand Kristin this year's TOP Tater Award that went to LOST...!!

Not too sure how much of me you will get to see, but I was wearing my long sleeve orange ODI T-Shirt, so at least you will see my hands and arms....

In between takes Kristin spoke with us and she even told me about a little bit about Daniel Day Kim's (Jin) Bday Bash with the crew and how fun it was...she said Kim is a great singer and that Josh Holloway's (Sawyer) wife is "crazy, crazy in a good fun way!!"

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 11 & 12 (**Closed**)

While the votes weren't very close at all, reading your comments shows that yesterday's matchups weren't the easiest decision to make. In the end, Juliet and Kate were victorious, sending Sun and Mikhail to the great Character Cup hereafter.

But the insanity hasn't stopped yet, has it? There is still one more Main vs. Main matchup left in Round 2. But it isn't tonight, though we do see a pair of main character in action. I'll let you all do the math on that one and figure out what it means.

On to tonight's matchups! As I said, there's two main characters involved, though not against each other. In the first matchup, we're forced to play "Who's Your Favorite Other," as the head honcho takes on one of his minions. Will Ben snuff out another opponent, or does Richard Alpert have what it takes to topple his boss?

In the second matchup, another Other takes on an Other-killer. Will Tom go the distance and spoil Hurley's momentum, or will everyone's favorite plus-size jokester have yet another victory to hoot about?

Let's find out! :-)

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 9 & 10 (**Closed**)

How about that! We finally had two close matchups for a change. But sadly, though all four characters seemed to be well-liked, only two were able to move on to Round 3. So, congrats to Walt and Charlie. Christian Shephard and Jin both managed to make the decision making difficult for us, but they just couldn't quite pull it off.

With the conclusion of these matchups, we are already halfway through Round 2! Exciting as that may seem, it also means that some harder choices are looming ahead of us in Round 3 and beyond. In fact, I teased you all in the comments that tonight's matchups would include yet another gut-wrenching twister. Maybe it's just me, but it just doesn't seem nice of the hat to pit Sun against Juliet in only the second round.

That's right, matchup #1 is Sun vs. Juliet. Both are strong female characters and both have their followings with fans. Who's going to win this cat fight?

In the second matchup of the evening, we see the man with 9 lives (er, well maybe just 2) going up against the Losties' resident convict. Mikhail vs. Kate is sure to make for another interesting day of voting and commenting, of which there was no lack of in the last 24 hours.

Enjoy!

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 7 & 8 (**Closed**)

While many of us Arzt fans feel that his loss to Ms. Hawking was the first true upset of the tourney, we have seen the first significant upset in the form of part-timer Danielle Rousseau taking out main cast member Claire Littleton. This just goes to show you that even main Losties are not safe from elimination, though Claire did keep it reasonably close.

The second matchup was much more predictable. Our Sawyer was no less brutal with the original Sawyer in their Cup mathchup than he was in the brig of the Black Rock. Rocketing out to the highest margin of victory so far this round, James Ford reigned supreme over Anthony Cooper in the Battle of the Sawyers.

Tonight we get a little taste of what's likely in store for future rounds- seemingly difficult decisions between strong characters. The first matchup is pits someone's son against someone's dad. It's Walt vs. Christian Shephard.

The second matchup is where the heartache will lie. In a matchup that may stir up some debate, Jin will try his luck against the very popular Charlie. Will the Korean topple the Brit, or will sympathy for Charlie's death carry him through to the next round?

We'll find out in about a day, once you've all voted. :-)

Season 3 Set Photos

Some of these have been seen before but there are a number of new ones that I'd not seen myself personally. Thanks to Sky One and Lost Media for the files.
