Miss Ireland Attacked For Dating Nigerian Boy

21 year old miss Ireland, Emma Waldron has been criticized for dating a 23 year old nigerian called Manners Oshafi. Emma claimed she has been rebukked many times by people for dating a black man; some "racists" went ahead to launch an internet campaign (threatening

her on social networking sites and others) against the young beauty for having a nigerian as boyfriend. Emma was the 4th in the miss world competition held last year.. In spite of all these, Emma refused to let it get to her...this was her reply, concerning the whole issue
"There is only one race, the human race. What matters in friendship and love is the heart and soul of the person you have a relationship with, not their colour, nationality, creed or background. I love my boyfriend with every cell in my body and nothing anyone says will change that. It upsets me that people have negative things to say about a love and friendship that is so beautiful. We don't need others approval.

Betty White to Host New Hidden Camera 'Prank' Show for NBC

Move over Ashton Kutcher. Our favorite comedic senior citizen has just signed on to a new comedy reality show gig!

NBC announced Thursday that they have ordered twelve episodes of the new “Betty White Off Their Rockers” show starring, of course, Betty.

The hidden camera prankster reality show will follow seven other senior citizens, led by 89-year-old White, as they play hidden camera pranks on the “unsuspecting youth and younger generation”.

White said,

“People have been telling me that I’m ‘off my rocker’ for years — now I can prove it.”

Betty has had a resurgence of popularity since hosting a Saturday Night Live episode last year, and her hit sitcom “Hot in Cleveland” has just been picked up for its third year on NBC, and she has a book coming out in May.

Boy, this gal really makes me feel old – and lazy.

“Off Their Rockers” is being licensed to the U.S. markets by a Belgian company where the show first originated with huge success.

No air date has been released.

Watch Katy Perry’s New ‘E.T.’ Video with Kanye West – It is Bizarre – Really…

I guess in a world of Lady Gaga the pressure to always release new, wild, and bizarre music videos must be tremendous.

Leave it to Katy Perry to not disappoint.

In her new music video, “E.T” featuring Kanye West, the full bodied singer takes things into the world of space to grab our attention. The scene is set on a dark, distant planet with alien spacecraft and surreal imagery.

Kanye West floats around in an extra-terrestrial “orb” while he wraps about candy bars, and how famous and important he is.

Really? Why is Kanye even in this video?

Perry then floats into the scene in what looks like some costume from the last Harry Potter movie.

I’m not sure what else I can say other than… Katy Perry is turning into Lady Gaga.

Watch it and enjoy?

Crews began work Wednesday, covering the arena floor with over half a foot in some areas. While organizers say over 10,000 people are expected to attend, they're promising an exciting weekend that rodeo fans of all ages are sure to remember.

"I think it's going to be great family fun. We've gone out of our way to make sure that the tickets are priced so that everybody can bring their families, and we just hope that everyone comes out because I know it's going to be great," says Janet Markowitz, one of the event's organizers.

Hundreds of steers, horses, and other large animals are also being trucked in for the weekend. The Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo kicks off this Friday April 1st and runs through Sunday April 3rd.

Style has nothing to do with age......Omowumi Akinnifesi

Omawummi Akinifessi is an ex beauty queen who needs no introduction. Her sense of style oozes elegance and class. It was really no surprise (at least to me ) when she was named Vanguard Allure's style icon of the year....... did i mention the fact that she was on my list of most stylish Nigerians... Women 2010... .
This beauty was the cover girl for Vanguard Allure magazine over the weekend .In it she talks about her most expensive fashion item, her beauty secret, what style means to her,who she is dating, where she sees herself in the next ten years amongst other issues....

How did your style evolve? Did being MGBN influence your dress sense?
Before MBGN, I had always been very stylish and fashionable. But, being MBGN kind of influenced my dress sense in terms of the fact that, formerly, it was just a little more laid back and more casual because I hardly used to go for events.
After winning the crown, it pushed me further to take my style to another level because I had to stand out in the crowd. It pushed me further and I evolved and, style evolves yearly, monthly, weekly, daily. Let’s just say I am more matured in fashion.
How does it feel being in the spotlight? Does it put pressure on you to look good?
As an individual, being in the spotlight, being in the eye of the public, I think it’s more of a challenge in that your private life is very exposed. It’s not private anymore. But, I try to keep my private life to myself as much as possible. And, yes, it is a challenge.
People expect a lot from you and you know what they say: that great power comes with great responsibility. I’m a leader because, for me, being a beauty queen, you are a leader as a woman in terms of fashion, character and personality; in terms of everything. You have to be able to lead in a proper way, show and live by good example because you are going to be inspiring and influencing people.

Does it put pressure on your pocket?
Personally, it

more after the jump
doesn’t affect me at all because, I have always loved fashion. Even if I weren’t a beauty queen, I would still be dressing and looking the same way because, I believe in looking good and being fashionable. It’s not because of being a beauty queen that I dress this way; it’s because I want to. If you look around, you will see that I am not the only one that dresses well. Every Nigerian girl is fashionable, by her hair, her make up; we just like to look beautiful.

So, how do you feel being Allure’s Style Icon for the year, especially being listed with some older people in the industry?
I’m very honoured. It was Omotola (Jalade-Ekeinde) or Ireti Doyle that handed it over to me, the edition in which a lot of people were featured on the Allure cover and I said “Oh yes?”. It was just a passive thing. I didn’t even know what was going on. So, I feel very honoured to have received it. It just goes to show that fashion and style has nothing to do with age. It’s you, the personality that is wearing the outfit and dressing in a particular sense. So, it has nothing to do with age but with grace and beauty and fashion.

How would you describe your style?
My style is very elegant, simple, classy and sophisticated. I don’t go by trend. I go by what makes me happy, what looks good and what will last for the next ten years. I buy timeless pieces. I collect the pieces I know will reign for a long time. Trends are so easily outdated because they have a short life span. So, I believe in timeless pieces.

Who makes your clothes?
House of Nwaocha. I do jewellery by Lisa. I have worn lots of designers in the past, from Mon Ami to Mya.

What is your favourite red carpet look?
I don’t have a favourite red carpet look. It depends on the event that I am going for but I would like the very elegant and classy look. And, I’ll not wear too much; it’s probably one piece, probably a long, flowy, effortless dress. I am wearing the dress, the dress is not wearing me. If you put somebody else in that dress, it probably would look different.

Most prized fashion item?
My most prized would be my Hermes Birken bag and it’s a very large size. That is my most prized right now. I saved for a while to get it (laughs). It didn’t just happen overnight.

How much did it cost?
I’m not going to tell you. No.
So, when it comes to fashion, what will you splurge on?
I will spend a huge amount of money on jewellery, because I can hand them over to my kids. I have lots of timeless pieces and I just see them in the family; like my grandmother passing it over to my mum and the chain continues like that. I see it going from generation to generation. Apart from jewellery, I will do bags.
I know some of my mum’s most expensive bags and purses, wallet purses and things like that are still in my family right now. And, you still see them and still wear them and they are in right now!

Favourite shoe designer?
My favourite shoes… I wouldn’t have an all-time favourite shoe designer. I don’t think it is time to have an all-time favourite shoe designer. Maybe, when I am 70 and I am about to leave the earth, I will have an all-time shoe designer because, more designers will come, more unique pieces will be discovered. So, why stick to one right now? Right now, I will just say I love Christian Louboutin because I think they are stylish, very sophisticated. That is why I like them but I won’t say they are an all-time favourite; because there was a time that Jimmy Choo was so in but right now everybody likes Louboutin. I go to different stores and I see different shoes I like, and that is it for me.

Favorite perfume?
For perfumes, I will say Coco Channel Mademoiselle for night because it is more intense. I also do the Amani Code for evening with friends. Then, for day time, I do Lola by Mac Jacobs or Dazey by Mac Jacobs during the day.

Best beauty secret?
If I have a beauty secret, I am about to tell it to the world. It is not possible (laughs). And, if it were a secret, if I told you, it won’t be anymore. Anyway, I rest that is all. I watch what I eat and what I drink.

Do you exercise?
Well it depends. Sometimes, I do. Sometimes, I don’t. Because, I am the type that doesn’t really need to exercise. I lose weight very easily. I have been blessed with the physic.
What is your relationship life like? Are you into a relationship? You have been linked with some guy at a time. How true is that?
I don’t know. There is nothing to clear. People just guess because I am a very simple person. So, I guess they just look for something to write. I see a lot of people everyday. When I go to events, everybody in Lagos is in the event; all the people known to the public, all the celebrities are there and if I go close to a friend to take pictures with him, people just assume we are dating.
I probably will stop taking pictures with people on the red carpet, because that is where it starts from. And, the only picture the public sees is the red carpet pictures. I will stay with some people for hours taking pictures with them and nothing will come out, but the ones that few individuals just come out and say let’s take a picture and it becomes a problem.
So, these days, when I see my friends, I just tell them: “Please, don’t come close, because they will say we are dating. Just stay there.” And, they even laugh about it as well.
I appreciate Nigerians for trying to link me up with one person or the other; they can continue doing the match-making until they eventually see who it is, or get it right. But next time, they should just make sure it’s Prince Harry.

You had a scandal-free reign as queen. How did you do it?
Well, it is my nature. I am very jovial and so, I really don’t know how to explain that because it is the grace of God. I guess, it is my upbringing as well, the kind of home I am from. I thank my parents for that but I thank God most of all.

What do you have passion for?
Like I said, we have been involved in the fight against climate change, the importance of tree planting to reduce the carbon oxide in the atmosphere. I have been in contact with universities abroad that specialize in these areas: Oxford University, Cambridge University, Queens College, London trying to do stuff with them about the environment and do write-ups.
I am very involved with the environment, with tourism. These are aspects I have ultimate passion for. In this country, we don’t pay attention to the two things that we are supposed to be doing. We don’t concentrate on natural things, which is something we should start focusing on. But for now, I am doing background work. I am doing research and study of things and systems that have worked over there, internationally, because we have much more than they do. If their little system can work over there, imagine what it will do for us here.

So, there are so many things that I intend to do now and in the future. This is a long term thing. It is something I have such deep passion for and I hope to influence that industry by the special grace of God.

When it comes to relaxation, where would be your favourite holiday spot?
I am a tourist. I don’t have a favourite holiday spot. But I go to different places. I am a junky; people call me globe trooper, because every time I have different pictures. I collect pictures from places. I am a tourist. I don’t have one particular location. For me, leisure is going to a new place and experiencing nature. They have unique tourist destinations in different parts of the world.
So, if you ask me where I love the most, I will give you like eight different countries that I love their tourist destinations. I love Paris, it is a very nice place; very relaxed, very soft. Milan is nice as well. Rome itself is a tourist destination. When you are in Rome, you feel like you are in ancient times. Jordan is a wonderful place. There is this place called Petra Park. It is a whole kingdom cut in stones. It will take you like two weeks to walk around the place. So, it is an exquisite place. It is mind blowing.

Where would you love to see yourself in the next ten years?
Where I will love to see myself in the next ten years is in my head and I don’t want to share that. You will see it when the time comes. But for L-Poise, it will be an impact and an inspiration to people and women, more especially.

Judge Judy Rushed to Hospital In Health Scare…

Things got a little scary on the set of Judge Judy Sheindlin’s television show today.

During the taping she apparently started talking in gibberish, alarming those in the room, and said she was not feeling well.

She was taken to the hospital by ambulance and will be staying overnight for observation.

It must not be real serious because Sheindlin called TMZ’s Harvey Levin from her hospital bed with the following update:

"I'm just exhausted, and my body was telling me it needed a day to chill. I was feeling funky this morning ... funky enough that I knew someone should give a gander over what I got. I'm really fine. I wanted to go back to work this afternoon, I'm exhausted. I'm just tired. A lot of things just zoned together, including the bad news of the world. I'm gonna go home tomorrow. It was a bad idea to fly home tonight. At my age, I know my body. My body is fine".

Judge Judy is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles where she is undergoing tests.

“My first kiss was in high school, and it was the worst thing ever,,,,,,I do think I’m a bit of a masochist"........Rihanna

Singer Rihanna who might be the hottest cover girl now if you are to judge by the number of magazine covers she has done since the beginning of the year alone, is on the cover of rolling stones magazine. Remember i posted some pics from the magazine here, well  check out excerpts from the interview....

On her first kiss: “My first kiss was in high school, and it was the worst thing ever. He pretty much dumped his entire saliva glands into my mouth. It traumatized me. I didn’t kiss for, like, ever.”

On what she loves in the bedroom: “I like to take charge, but I love to be submissive. Being submissive in the bedroom is really fun. You get to be a little lady, to have somebody be macho and in charge of your shit. That’s sexy to me. I work

more after the jump
a lot, and I have to make a lot of executive decisions, so when it comes to being intimate, I like to feel like I’m somebody’s girl. I like to be spanked. Being tied up is fun. I like to keep it spontaneous. Sometimes whips and chains can be overly planned – you gotta stop, get the whip from the drawer downstairs. . . . I’d rather have him use his hands.”

On her emotional state after the Chris Brown assault: “I put my guard up so hard. I didn’t want people to see me cry. I didn’t want people to feel bad for me. It was a very vulnerable time in my life, and I refused to let that be the image. I wanted them to see me as, ‘I’m fine, I’m tough.’ I put that up until it felt real.”

On her father: “I actually feel really bad for my father. He was abused too – he got beat up by his stepdad when he was young. He has resentment toward women, because he felt like his mom never protected him, and unfortunately, my mother was the victim of that. I’m not giving him excuses. Right is right and wrong is wrong. I still blame him. But I understand the source.”
On how the childhood abuse shaped her: “I do think I’m a bit of a masochist. It’s not something I’m proud of, and it’s not something I noticed until recently. I think it’s common for people who witness abuse in their household. They can never smell how beautiful a rose is unless they get pricked by a thorn. When I think about it, I really do take some pleasure in the negativity. I don’t want to say turned on by it – but I’m turned on by it.”

On her visit to the Sydney sex shop Toolshed, where she left with two full bags of whips, blindfolds and dildos: “Don’t go to a sex store tipsy.”

On the current status of her love life: “I’m not dating. I’m not sexing, I’m not even sexting. It’s on complete nil You think you’re disappointed? [by her lack of sex]. Try being in this body!”

On sexting: “When you’re not with the person you want to be intimate with, a picture is the next best thing. Well, Skype is safer. But a picture lasts a long time. When you’re alone, and those horny moments come up, pictures can be very handy. I haven’t gotten a dick picture in a long time. I think people are a little afraid. It can turn out bad.”
On her name: “I get kind of numb to hearing Rihanna (from the Arabic for “sweet basil.”), Rihanna, Rihanna. When I hear Robyn (her first name), I pay attention.”

Justin Bieber’s Music Producers Sued Over Song Royalties – Seeking Damages

You know what they say - you’re not successful until somebody tries to sue you. So it goes in the teen heart throb world of Justin Bieber.

The original producers of the 17- year-old's hit single “One Less Lonely Girl” are suing Bieber’s Production company saying they are due royalties from the song, and accuses them of fraud and copyright infringement. Ouch!

Vance Tate and Thomas Oliveria, who represent the songwriting team A-Rex, have filed a lawsuit seeking additional royalty money from the hit single which appeared on Bieber's hit 2008 debut album, “My World”.

In 2008, A-Rex wrote the song, "One Less Lonely Girl," as part of a music project by soul and R&B singer Noel Gourdin. Gourdin’s team passed on the song so A-Rex shopped it around the music biz and it eventually found its way onto Justin Bieber's first album.

The suit alleges that A-Rex are due ten percent of the publishing royalties tied to their share of the song, a dollar amount they say is about $200,000. They are also seeking damages for breach of contract, fraud, conversion and copyright infringement.

Really? Only $200,000? Bieber makes $300,000 per concert and “One Less Lonely Girl” is one of his hit songs on stage.

The suit also names EMI Music Publishing and the L.A. Reid Music Publishing Company.

L.A. Reid, just announced last week that he will be stepping down as Chairman of Island Def Jam Records to become one of the judges on the Fall premier of Simon Cowell's new reality show “X Factor”.

Bieber's management team has not commented on the suit.

My take:

Pay up and move on…..

‘Twin Boys Have a Conversation’ – Video Goes Viral

Everybody seems to be talking about it today.

And I have to admit that after watching it I found myself with a smile on my face.

The YouTube video titled “Twin Boys Have a Conversation” shows two twin toddlers standing in the kitchen trying to have a conversation about a missing sock.

At least that’s what it sounds like… and looks like.

Even though you won’t recognize one word they say, you will know exactly what they are TRYING to say.

It is the cutest video ever!

Donald Trump is a Political Douchebag – You’re Fired!

Every now and then there are people who I wish would just go away. Today, Donald Trump is that person. Why?

The Donald has now thrown his hat, or bad hair, into the ring for the 2012 Presidential campaign.

Really?

Trump running for President? Donald, please don’t ask Gary Busey to be your running mate or Joan Rivers to be your Secretary of State.

First off, the only political experience he has is dealing with other politicians in the New York and New Jersey commercial building, golf course, and casino business. Okay, so he knows how to pay people off and likes golf.

He also knows how to get D-list celebrities to make pizza, sell wedding dresses, and plug product placement deals on his show “Celebrity Apprentice”. But that type of extreme leadership pales in comparison to what it takes to be president.

And last week on “The View” he went on and on about how Barack Obama should just “step up” and produce a copy of his birth certificate. Oh no… another birther. I thought we had settled that a long time ago.

In a masterful attempt to “show how easy it was”, Donald produced for the media what he said was a copy of his own birth certificate. But there was only one problem.

What he actually produced was just an unofficial hospital birthing record – NOT his official birth certificate. That’s kind of embarrassing.

Trump even accused the Governor of Hawaii of a cover-up regarding the issue, and the Governor shot back calling Trump “a fool”.

Of course we all know that Trump could never really get elected, and I hope that deep down Donald himself realizes that – but I’m not so sure.

After all, four years in Washington would put a serious crimp in his television production schedule. He even told reporters that he couldn’t say anything about running until production on “Celebrity Apprentice” was over. Really?

Donald – there are too many real problems in this world for you to be wasting our time with some type of selfless promotion regarding running for president. You know you have zero chance of winning so please step aside and let the real contenders battle this out. In times like this I really miss Keith Olbermann’s “Worst person in the world” segment.

But Donald, since you seem to understand only one thing besides money, I will make this very easy for you to process…

Donald, you’re fired.

Homer Simpson’s Nuclear Power Plant Job in Jeopardy After Japan Disaster – D’oh

In a real world example of life imitating art, Homer Simpson has got himself into a little hot water these days – as in nuclear hot water.

It seems that Germany, Switzerland and Austria are none too thrilled with Homers clumsy and potentially dangerous antics in his day job at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant.

The countries have joined together to review and pull several episodes of “The Simpsons” that show Homer causing problems at work in a nuclear power plant.

The series has a long history of showing “green glowing blobs” as a result of Homer’s inept work ethic.

In fact, the opening sequence shows Homer dropping a glowing piece of radioactive fuel rod, and one episode shows Homer and two of his friends playing “Toxic Barrel Rolling”.

The worst offender is an episode that shows Homer getting shot by Ned Flanders while in the nuclear control room and falling on the “Destroy Core” button causing a nuclear explosion that destroys Springfield.

And what about the episode showing a singing and dancing radioactive Mr. Burns?

Germany says it is screening every episode to make sure there are no bad references to nuclear health and safety shown on the air.

So far two episodes have already been pulled: Episode 66, “Marge Gets a Job”, featuring scientists Marie and Pierre Curie dying of radiation poisoning; and Episode 346, “On a Clear Day I Can't See My Sister”, where jokes about a nuclear meltdown are made.

Executive producer Al Jean says that Homer will be keeping his job at the nuclear plant, and added;

"We have 480 episodes, and if there are a few that they don’t want to air in light of the terrible thing going on in Japan, I completely understand that.”

But where do you draw the line? Maybe countries should screen each episode looking for examples of bullying, irresponsible drinking, adultery, racial intolerance, and other socially unacceptable acts.

And why stop with the Simpsons? What about Jersey Shore, Two and a Half Men, and other wonderful programming?

No, we suggest you see it as it is – comedy, parody, and art. If you make too much of a stink then the government will feel compelled to get involved and then we’re all screwed. All that will be left will be reruns of I Love Lucy and The Lawrence Welk Show.

My take:

At the end of the day I think adults, and most children, know the difference between a real world disaster and a cartoon parody. If you have any doubt, then you should spend less time letting television mold your kids mind - and more time doing it yourself.

Enough said.

Rumored Tom Cruise Rodeo Flick Coming Up?

Rumored Tom Cruise Rodeo Flick Coming Up?

Alberta may have lost the Man of Steel to the Windy City, but local industry insiders says the province is still in the running for an all-star rodeo film, with Tom Cruise rumoured to be interested in playing the lead.
The sources confirmed to the Herald that scouts have been in Alberta looking at locations for the film, which has gone by the names Freebird, Final Go and Paper Wings. At one point, Cruise and Reese Witherspoon were attached.

Still, it remains in pre-production and is a long way from confirming locations.

"They liked everything they found in Alberta," says one insider. "It's a natural. We've got the bulls, we've got the contractors, we've got the riders. We can beat anybody else out in those aspects."

As early as a year ago, the L.A. Times reported that Cruise and Witherspoon were attached to the project, which was then called Paper Wings. Cruise would play a rodeo champ who falls in love with a country singer played by Witherspoon. Actor Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment was named as the film's producer. While still in the early stages, the possibility of Cruise in a rodeo picture had already raised the ire of American animal-rights organizations. Cruise has reportedly been spotted behind the chutes at various rodeos in California. The sources told the Herald that, if Alberta is chosen as a location, filming could start later in the year.

When asked about the possibility of a Cruise production heading here, culture minister Lindsay Blackett said he had "no comment."

Critics Worry about Charlie Sheens Upcoming 'My Violent Torpedo of Truth' Live Shows – Is He Ready?

With just a few days left before Charlie Sheen takes to the stage with his 2011 live show “Violent Torpedo of Truth” in Detroit, critics are starting to wonder what he will unveil to audiences.

While little is known about the content of the shows, Sheen has tweeted a pic of Snoop Dog at his house presumably laying down some music tracks for the show.

The problem, critics say, is that while Sheen has made a big splash with all his “tiger blood” talk and television appearances last month – they have all been done WITHOUT an audience present.

“Standing on a stage for two hours trying to make everybody laugh might be harder than Charlie thinks”, says one critic.

“If a joke bombs, or he says something derogatory about women or working people, the audience could turn on him really fast. He didn’t have to deal with people booing, yelling, or throwing things at him when he was on TV.”

“People are going to go to the show with a certain expectation based on what they have seen from Charlie. If he fails to deliver, it could get really ugly really fast. If the first couple of shows bomb, it will be an uphill battle to complete the series and sell the tickets”.

“He should have done a few smaller gigs to test out his material and see how the crowds react. Not everybody is going to find his jokes funny. Not everybody is going to “get” the show”.

In fact, if you look at the replies to Charlie’s tweets the last several weeks, you can clearly see more people seem to be just egging him on instead of lending him true support.

“There are more people looking for Charlie to fail than to succeed. To many fans of “Two and a Half Men”, he is just another super rich celebrity that has screwed everything up and is airing his dirty laundry in public.”

“Just like people slow down to see the wreck on the interstate, lots of people are going to the show just to see how bad it is and to see the train wreck in person”.

I agree - he should have tried out his material at a few smaller venues and taken a little more time to fine tune his routine. This REALLY does have the possibility to be a really bad train wreck. We will all know by the evening of April 2nd. Unfortunately, it won’t be just a bad April fool’s joke.

And for reports that Sheen’s show tickets are selling out - that turns out not to be true. Sources tell us there are still plenty of tickets. In fact, it looks like people purchased most of the tickets ONLY to try and resell them on other ticket sites for a hefty premium.

If things do go badly, it could spell the end of Charlie and his Adonis DNA.

Beer and Horses

Beer and Horses

Although our winter weather is hanging on, I intend to celebrate spring’s arrival at two events this weekend: the sixth annual Atlantic City Beer Festival and the first Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo.

The two-day beer fest kicks off on Friday at the 75,000-square-foot Atlantic City Convention Center. More than 75 brewers from around the world will be on hand for this celebration of suds.

I’ve attended several beer festivals over the years, but this one stands out as among the best. You’ll meet some local brew legends (including the folks from Cherry Hill’s Flying Fish and Sam Calagione, founder of Dogfish Head), and get a chance to step outside the Bud-Miller-Coors universe into a world of beer diversity.

Some of this year’s highlights will include Brooklyn Brewery, Great Lakes, Troegs, Boulder, Stone, Left Hand and Magic Hat. The event will feature food, live entertainment and guest speakers. Tickets are $50 at the door, and
$45 per session in advance online through Ticket Master. For more information visit the festival’s website.

Moving from beer to broncos, Friday is also the start of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Rodeo, a Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association-sanctioned event. The rodeo will feature three days of classic competition, including bareback riding, saddle bronco riding, bull riding, calf roping, team roping and women’s barrel racing. The prize purse will be $56,000, with about 10 contestants in each event.

This may seem a bit kitschy, but make no mistake, these guys and gals are quite serious about their rodeos—as anyone who has attended Cowtown Rodeo in Salem County can attest. So, in between brews, take a stroll down to Boardwalk Hall for the East Coast’s largest rodeo of the year. Tickets are $16, $31, $51 and $102. Family four packs are sold out, so get on this before you get bucked from the fun. Tickets can be purchased at the Boardwalk Hall Box Office or online from Ticketmaster.

Beyonce Fires Her Papa/Manager, Mathew Knowles

Word has it that R & B singer Beyonce, has fired her manager Mathew Knowles. While no concrete reason was given she shocked fans and industry executives when she released this  statement through her publicist Yvette Noel-Schure :
“I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I
more and find out Papa Knowles' reaction after the jump
grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps. He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”
Mathew Knowles issued a separate statement, stating the decision to split was mutual, expressing his love and pride for his daughter:“Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success,” he said.Knowles said his plans include focusing on his label’s work in gospel and inspirational music, where he said the company has made a “tremendous investment.” Can't say I am shocked, but what do you guys think. Is Beyonce making a big mistake?

Genevieve Nnaji On CNN's African Voices (Full length Video)

Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji recently made a second appearance on CNN (2nd time within a year). This time around it was on their show 'African Voices'.

When She was asked by CNN's correspondent Pedro Pinto, about what she does not like and want changed about Nigeria, this is what she had to say:
“I like that as Nigerians as we are, we have some sort of neighborly love that we don’t understand, we have a way of coming to the rescue of complete strangers, we do have that bond and I think it has to do with our background and how we are raised and how Nigerians in a whole have been made to be morally. It’s like you have a moral duty to your society, to yourself, to your family so it’s like everybody’s business is everybody’s business. It’s a bad thing sometimes, but it does have its good sides. You know, so that is something that we are. We probably don’t know as a people and if we don’t know we should know it now, it’s a good thing. What I don’t like about Nigeria…man, I never diss my own country, man! You know, whatever negativity is in a country is in every other country; it’s in every other part of the world. So, the thing is everyone needs to be treated as individuals and not a collective nation. You don’t judge one person or judge one person by another person’s faults. So, I just take every Nigerian the way I see them. I would never live anywhere else to be honest, no.”

Willie Nelson Makes Special Deal with Judge In Pot Case – Go Willie!

Remember last November when Willie Nelson was arrested for having pot on his tour bus in Texas?

Well, the prosecutor has agreed to approach the judge with a special plea bargain.

He wants the judge to fine Nelson $100 and allow him to sing “Blue Eyes Crying In the Rain” as a form of community service in lieu of a more severe punishment.

Of course the judge, and Willie, still have to agree with the plan but chances are pretty good they will.

Normally the sentence would include up to three months in jail and a fine of $2,000-$5,000.

Willie – TAKE THE DEAL.

Jackass Star Steve-O Arrested in Canada for Assault with a Deadly Weapon

Poor Steve-O. I guess it’s true what they say – once a jackass always a jackass.

Seems Steve, real name Stephen Gilchrist Glover, was arrested while trying to enter Canada yesterday for assault with a deadly weapon. But there is a twist.

The assault happened way back in 2003, eight years ago, when the star was heavily abusing drugs and alcohol and assaulted an unknown person with an unknown deadly weapon while in Canada.

By the time the police investigation was done Steve had already left the country.

Yesterday, while going through customs at Calgary International Airport authorities noticed the 2003 arrest warrant and took him into custody.

No sweat. Steve-O bailed himself out using ten thousand dollars in CASH that he happened to be carrying. Now he has to return in May to face the judge.

What a jackass. Maybe Charlie Sheen can take Steve-O on the road as his winning warlock tiger blood warm up act. It seems the two would get along just fine.

This is true - Steve graduated from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College in 1997 but was never accepted for any clown gigs so he returned home and started doing Jackass type videos and sending them to skateboard companies trying to get work.

Somehow he ended up on television. How did that all work out?

As of today, Steve has no television, movie, commercial, radio, or book projects scheduled and appears to be, well… an unemployed clown.

Western Art Week supporter Ginger Renner dies

C.M. Russell expert, Western Art Week supporter Ginger Renner dies

Ginger Renner, an art collector and gallery owner who became one of the nation's top experts on the late "Cowboy Artist" Charlie Russell, died early Sunday at a local hospital near her home in Paradise Valley, Ariz., after a fall. She was 89.
"It's just a tremendous loss to the (C.M. Russell) Museum and the art world," said Darrell Beauchamp, executive director of the C.M. Russell Museum. "As a resource, Ginger was invaluable. We used her every chance we got."
Beauchamp said Renner was not able to attend last week's Russell Museum events because of failing health.
"She wanted to be there more than anything," said her daughter, Amanda Stine. "It was hugely important to her."
In the last few years of her life, she talked with the Tribune about her interest in and contributions to western art events.
One of the editors of "Charles M. Russell, A Catalogue Raisonné," the definitive listing of Russell's work, Renner had been a backer of the Russell Art Auction since its beginning in 1969 and authenticated much of Russell's artwork.
That became a problem in 2005 when she spotted a fake Russell in the auction. To make matters worse, it was valued at between $90,000 and $110,000 and owned by an old friend, Kalispell art collector Paul Masa.
Renner publicly announced that the painting was a forgery, then privately persuaded Masa to pull the painting from the auction. "Paul and I burned it in Van Kirke Nelson's fireplace," she said.
But she also wrote Masa a check to cover his loss, she later admitted.
Born May 21, 1921, in Fullerton, La., Renner spent about 18 months as society editor of the Silver City (N.M.) Enterprise, a weekly newspaper back in 1939-40.
But she'd always had an eye for art, and in 1963 she got a chance to run the Desert Southwest Art Gallery in Palm Desert, Calif. It was there she met Masa.
"He tried to sell me some of this bad art he was carrying around in his truck," Renner said. "I told him his art was pretty cruddy, but if he wanted to hang around until things slowed down in the afternoon, I'd show him some good art."
In 1965, she bought an art gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyo. "So I was able to have a summer operation in Jackson Hole and a winter operation in Palm Desert," she said.
In 1973, she met and married Fred Renner, then the nation's leading expert on Russell.
"I was his third wife, and he was my third husband," she said. "We always said the third time's the charm — and it was true. We never got tired of each other."
Ginger said she was determined not to intrude on her husband's area of expertise, but she borrowed a book of personal reminisces about Russell to read one day while her husband watched a football game on television.
"It was a big book — it must have weighed 20 pounds — but I read it cover to cover," she said. "When I was done, I started over and read it all over again. When I was finished for the second time, I was absolutely hooked on Charlie."
Over the next 15 years, she learned a lot about Russell, living with a bunch of his art. For nearly a year, the Renners lived with a major bronze by Russell entitled "Meat for Wild Men."
When her husband died in March 1987, Renner was ready to take on his duties.
Two days after his death, Ginger Renner got a call from Charlie Russell's son Jack, who wanted to know where Fred would be buried.
When she said she didn't know, Jack Russell said he had a plot right across the stone from his father that he would be happy to donate because he had lived for so long in southern California that he wanted to be cremated and have his ashes scatted in the Pacific Ocean.
"It was the most wonderful, generous, compassionate gift I ever received because it would have meant so much to Fred," she said. "I broke into tears, and then I wrote him a heartfelt letter of thanks for such an incredible gift."
She continued holding court at the Russell Art Auction through the 2009 bidding, which she stood up and interrupted to tell the buyers of a Russell watercolor — they'd just won it on a $100,000 bid — that it was a very rare piece and a great bargain.
Two of her children survive her: Dan Neveau, a business analyst and developer in Encinitas, Calif., and Amanda Stine, a chef in Sedona, Ariz.
She is also survived by five grandchildren.
Beauchamp said the Russell Museum is planning some sort of memorial or tribute for Renner, a long-time board member, but is waiting to talk to her family.
"We will do everything we can to honor her," Beauchamp said.
— Eric Newhouse, retired projects editor for the Great Falls Tribune, interviewed Ginger Renner in 2009.
