I Am Feeling........ Award Winning Author 'Myne Whitman'

When i see Nigerians and indeed Africans doing extremely well i am always very proud. When they are role models to young people...I brag about them. One person who i am definitely feeling right now is award winning author 'Myne Whitman'.
Myne Whitman is a Nigerian author based in the United States who writes romantic fiction under this pen name. She was born and raised in Enugu, Nigeria, where she spent most of her time, studying, reading and daydreaming or climbing trees and playing with the boys. She has a Master’s degree in Public Health Research but has chosen her childhood dream of spinning stories. Myne writes and blogs full-time, and volunteers as an ESL tutor for a local charity. She critiques with the Seattle Eastside Writers Meet-up and is a
more after the jumpmember of the Pacific Northwest Writers Association.

In June 2010, the author won big at the Nigerian Blog Awards scooping up the Nigerian Blog of the Year, Best Use of Social Media, Best Collaborative Blog and Best Writing and Book Blog. Myne Whitman has received full page features in the THISDAY, Vanguard, NEXT and the National Daily Newspaper with several articles and interviews in the Guardian, African Loft, Reading Bridges Magazine, among many others. The author was the Personality of the month for LadyBrille Magazine in March and the Spotlight Profile for the AfrikanGoddess Online in July.
The author’s publicity profile soared after her first novel, A Heart to Mend, was released in December 2009. The novel started life as a series of excerpts shared on the author's blog, but has brought only accolades in its wake. A Heart to Mend appeared in the top twenty West African Books on the Amazon Kindle Bestseller list, and also was recently selected by The New African Woman July Issue as one of the Summer Must-reads alongside The Long Song by Andrea Levy and The Memory of Love by Aminatta Forna.

A Love Rekindled looks set to meet and surpass the benchmark set by AHTM. In February 2011, it was long listed into the second round of the Amazon/Penguin Breakthrough Novel Award. The book will be officially released on Sunday, April 3, 2011 with a full video trailer and a Nollywood Casting, along with promotional giveaways.
You can follow Myne Whitman's blog, follow her on Facebook or Twitter to keep updated.
