MTN Reduces Blackberry Tariffs
MTN wants you to know that their BIS is now the cheapest in Nigeria – at least till January 31st, 2011.
MTN announced on Friday that…
You can now
stay connected on your BlackBerry for less. MTN offers you BIS weekly for N1,000 & BIS monthly for N3,000
Before now, MTN BIS costs N5000/month and 1300/week. With these promo tariffs, you can now stay in touch for less.
To subscribe monthly, recharge N3000 and text BIS to 21600
To subscribe weekly, recharge N1000 and text BBweek to 21600
At the moment, MTN Blackberry active users is estimated at 50,000 which represents about 50% of the total Blackberry usage in Nigeria, according to unconfirmed reports.
Will this figure (if true) double by January 2011 as a result of the reduced BIS tariffs?
While I’m not sure this will happen, my guess is that MTN will continue to lead Blackberry usage in Nigeria.
I’m wondering what Glo, Zain and Etisalat’s response to MTN’s BIS promo tariffs would be.
