Update: With the results page still having problems, you can keep track of the results here.
Congratulations to Desmond! He worked up an insurmountable lead so we closed shop on the fight early to tackle our semifinalists!
Desmond: 64% (selected to win Round 4 on 81.2% of all brackets)
Sayid: 36% (selected to win Round 4 on 13.7% of all brackets)
The bracket site has been updated. Vinnie is still the man to beat. With three matches left, will anyone rise up and take him out?
Today's semifinal matchup features the Lostie side of our two matches. Both contestants are survivors of Flight 815's crash, making them series regulars since Season 1. They are also both currently members of the Oceanic 6. One was recently in denial about having to go back to the Island while the other was recently in a mental institution. Currently, they both seem to be on a course that will lead them back to the Island. Will it be the doctor or the millionaire? The leader or the dude? Will it be Jack or Hurley making it to the Finals?
Jack Shephard
A survivor of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Jack filled a much needed leadership role among the Losties. Before the Island, Jack was a spinal surgeon. He used his medical skills to help his fellow castaways and eventually an enemy as well. He was captured by the Others and performed life-saving surgery on their leader. Determined to leave the Island, Jack made contact with the freighter, thinking it meant rescue for everyone. Jack escaped the Island and is currently a member of the Oceanic 6. He was last seen discussing a plan to return to the Island with Benjamin Linus.
Hugo “Hurley” Reyes
One-time psych ward patient and fast food clerk, Hurley won a huge sum of money by playing the lottery with numbers he picked up from his time in the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute. He came to believe his money was cursed though. After surviving the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, the Numbers seemed to follow him. He seemed to have broken his curse and found a sense of belonging with the survivors. He is a member of the Oceanic 6 and was readmitted to Santa Rosa not long after returning home. He was last seen breaking out of Santa Rosa with help from Sayid.
