French born African designer Oliver Rousteing has made news (and probably history) for being the youngest person to be appinted creative director/ head of an acclaimed fashion house. He is also the first designer of African descent to do this.

raised in Bourdeaux, he holds a degree from the Parisian fashion school ESMOD (l’Ecole Supérieure des Arts et techniques de la Mode) and has been in charge of the womenswear design at the label. Prior to his appointment he was relatively unknown but has worked at Balmain since 2009.
Before joining Balmain he spent five years at acclaimed fashion house Roberto Cavalli. Oliver will take over from former Balmain designer Christopher Decarnin.
