In his new book, "Against All Odds," Brown details how he was physically and emotionally abused by a stepfather.
But it was his experience at a summer camp, where he describes himself as young and vulnerable, that he was sexually abused by a camp counselor several times at the age of 10.
Brown, who emerged on the national political scene with his unexpected victory in the race for Senator Ted Kennedy's seat, told “60 Minutes” that not even his mother or wife knew about the abuse until now.
“Fortunately nothing was every fully consummated so to speak, but it was certainly back then very traumatic. He said, ‘If you tell anybody, I’ll kill you.’ I will make sure that no one believes you,” said Sen. Brown.
