Rapper DMX is apparently not faring too well in prison and has been transferred to a mental health unit.
DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was transferred to a
mental health unit in prison, where he is serving a 12-month sentence for probation violation.
The rapper was arrested by police at an Arizona club in November when he was using cocaine and drinking alcohol during a show. He also was driving on a suspended license and failed to check in with his probation officer.
DMX entered a guilty plea to a charge of felony probation violation and was sentenced to a year in jail.
At the rapper’s sentencing, judge Christine Mulleneaux worried he may be suffering from an undiagnosed mental condition and DMX was recently admitted to the Flamenco Mental Health Unit inside the Alahambra Prison complex.
