The band Phish, who broke up in 2004, are planning a reunion tour starting with three dates next March in Hampton, Virginia.
A notice posted on the band's Web site says Phish will play March 6, March 7 and March 8, 2009, at the Hampton Coliseum.
In a brief announcement Wednesday on their Web site, the jam band announced that it is reuniting to play not only the three concerts in Virginia, but plans to announce "additional touring dates and locations" early next year.
The reunion was somewhat expected, since singer and guitarist Anastasio had implied earlier this year that the idea of a tour was being thrown around.
In September, the four musicians Anastasio, bassist Mike Gordon, keyboardist Page McConnell and drummer Jon Fishman played together for the first time in almost five years at the New York wedding of a former road manager.
Phish has made a small number of tickets available through their online ticketing system for its March 6-7-8, 2009, reunion tour shows. And general admission tickets will go on sale to the public October 18 through Ticketmaster. Tickets will not be available at the concert location box offices, and there is a two-ticket limit per show.
