'Sell' mates: Perlman & Monaghan

Thanks to several of you who emailed me with this information about Dom's next film.

NEW YORK -- Dominic Monaghan will play an 18th century gravedigger and Ron Perlman is attached to play his priest in the horror film "I Sell the Dead" for producer-actor Larry Fessenden's Glass Eye Pix.

Monaghan (ABC's "Lost," the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy) and Fessenden ("Broken Flowers") will portray London corpse traders who perform services for an aristocratic doctor. Perlman ("Hellboy") is in final negotiations to play a mysterious priest who takes confession from Monaghan's character.

Angus Scrimm, who played the evil "Tall Man" in the "Phantasm" horror film series, is in final talks to play the doctor.

Production on the indie film from writer-director Glenn McQuaid will begin in May in New York, scheduled between the end of Monaghan's "Lost" shooting schedule for ABC and the beginning of Perlman's "Hellboy 2: The Golden Army" shoot for director Guillermo del Toro and Universal Pictures.

"Sell" will be produced by Peter Phok and Fessenden through Glass Eye's Scareflix horror banner. It marks McQuaid's feature film debut. He directed the gravedigger-themed short "The Resurrection Apprentice," starring Fessenden.

Monaghan, best known as Merry in the "Rings" trilogy, has appeared in the indie films "Shooting Livien," "The Purifiers" and "Spivs." Perlman's credits include "Blade II" and the upcoming films "Outlander" and "The Mutant Chronicles."

Monaghan is represented by APA, Untitled Entertainment and Barnes Morris Klein Mark Yorn Barnes & Levine. Perlman is repped by APA and Fenton/Kritzer Entertainment.
