The Lost Fantasy League: Week 12 Update

"There's No Place Like Home, Part 1" made for a tantalizing hour of Lost and it also served to change the top of our leader board! There is currently a three-way tie heading into the final episode of the season!

The only catch is that our leaders all have the same team! This means our tie-breaking procedure may be necessary after the final episode airs! If you tuned into last week's ODI podcast, you know what our tie-breaker is. Otherwise, you'll find out should we need to use it. DarkUFO and I are like Ben Linus- we always have a plan. :-)

We might need the tie-breaker because we are only giving out THREE TOP PRIZES:
FIRST PLACE: Season 4 of Lost on DVD and the Season 4 soundtrack!
SECOND PLACE: Season 4 of Lost on DVD
THIRD PLACE: The Season 4 soundtrack

Obviously, we don't have these items in our possession because they are not out yet. Winners will receive these prizes or an Amazon voucher for the approximate value thereof.

Drop us some comments and shoot any questions you have to LFLquestions@gmail.com.

SPOILER WARNING: THE CONTENTS OF THIS FANTASY UPDATE CONTAIN EPISODE INFORMATION FOR EPISODE 4x12. IF YOU HAVE NOT YET SEEN THIS EPISODE (AS IS THE CASE WITH OUR EUROPEAN FRIENDS) THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION WILL SPOIL THE EPISODE FOR YOU. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

“There's No Place Like Home, Part 1” (in 600 words or less)

Jack and the Losties tune into the sat phone, where it’s all ’roid raging Keamy, all the time. Not hearing anything positive or reassuring, Jack decides to hobble his way through the jungle to find out what’s up with the chopper dudes. Meanwhile, Daniel is freaked because he knows what the secondary protocol is, yet he doesn’t share the urgency of this information with the rest of the group. Smart move genius boy!

Halfway into the jungle, Jack’s stitches go on strike, leaving him bleeding through his shirt. He and Kate stumble upon Miles, Sawyer and Aaron. Jack sends them back to the beach, but Sawyer won’t let Jack die alone and treks alongside the doc to parts unknown.

Sayid reaches the beach and warns everyone that the chopper gang means to do very bad things to them all. Kate pops out of the jungle with the baby and drops the irony bomb on Sayid. Kate hands off the baby to Sun and takes off after Jack and Sawyer with Sayid. Daniel offers to ferry the Losties and Redshirts to the freighter.

Ben pulls out a box from under a pile of rocks. Hurley snacks on ancient DHARMA cracker, Locke plays with binoculars and Ben uses a signal mirror to let his people know not to kill them when they come closer. As they reach the Orchid, Ben discovers that Keamy & Company are already waiting for them.

Jack and Sawyer find the chopper and Frank handcuffed to the seats. They set him free and tells them he can get them out of here. Sawyer wants to save Hurley from Keamy first. Kate and Sayid are captured by the Others. On the freighter, Desmond discovers a very wired stash of C4 in the hold. Ben gives instructions to Locke and then walks right up to Keamy, who summarily knocks Ben out.

In the flashforwards, Jack seems to force everyone into sitting through a press conference in the hopes of making their big fat lie seem believable to the world that wrote them off for dead. They’re all visibly uncomfortable with the arrangements but seem relieved to see a few loved ones at the airport. Jack finds his mom, Sun and Hurley find their parents, Sayid is introduced to the Reyes clan, while Kate and Aaron are all alone.

At the press conference, questions arise about who all survived the crash, the possibility that there might be anymore survivors out there, Kate’s “pregnancy” before leaving Sidney, and (most importantly) why Hugo is still fat after 100 days on an Island. Afterwards, Sayid is reunited with Nadia.

The O6 adjust to the civilized world in different ways. Jack finally gets to have a funeral for his father, Hurley’s parents throw him a tropical-themed party, and Sun uses her settlement money to put Big Bad Asian Dad in his place. They say living well is the best revenge, but purchasing a controlling interest in your dad’s company because you hold him partly to blame for your husband’s “death” ain’t to shabby either.

Ominous foreshadowing of the week: Claire’s now-uncomatose mother tells Jack that his half-sister was on the plane with him. Jack looks at Aaron like he’s a plague baby.

WEEKS 1-8 POINTS ADJUSTMENTS:

I went back and watched the first eight episodes of Season 4 again to double check all of the scores. I found quite a few items that we either missed initially or now have since been disproven or disqualified. Please take the time to read over these decisions. It will help you understand why your score isn't as high as you think it should be and it will save me time in replying to emails about disputed scoring totals. All of these rulings are final.

4x01: THE BEGINNING OF THE END
1) Hurley loses his points for discovering the cabin and the points for discovering a new person (Christian and/or Jacob). We now know that Jacob is very selective about who he reveals himself to. Hurley did not just happen upon the cabin; Jacob revealed himself to Hugo. Due to our "no reveals" clause in the discovery rules, Jacob's revealing of the cabin disqualifies Hurley from getting points for finding it an anything or anyone inside it.
END RESULT: -40 for Hurley

2) Christian picks up points for encountering Jacob. Two important nuggets of information helped me out with this one. First, in "Cabin Fever" Christian Shephard stated that he was not Jacob. This means Christian was in the cabin with someone else (the face that popped up in the window). Second, I asked Jorge Garcia via The Fuselage whether they eye in that scene belonged to Locke (my original theory) or to Jacob. All he knew was that the person jumping up in the window was not Terry O'Quinn. This means the eye was indeed Jacob's. Sorry for holding out on you all for so long. To quote Locke, "I was wrong."
END RESULT: +40 for Christian

4x02: CONFIRMED DEAD
1) Locke gets Last on Screen points. I had to watch this scene online to get the widescreen view that shows Locke along with Ben in the last shot. I went back and watched the first and last scenes for all the other episodes just to check if anyone else may have been cut off by my fullscreen TV set.
END RESULT: +10 for Locke

4x03: THE ECONOMIST
1) Sayid gets Last on Screen points. While Ben is clearly in the foreground of the final shot of the episode, there is enough of Sayid in the frame for him to pick up the points. This is another case of spotting something in the widescreen presentation.
END RESULT: +10 for Sayid

4x05: THE CONSTANT
1) Sayid shares Last on Screen points with Desmond. Again, I had to view the widescreen version of the episode online to catch a glimpse of Sayid as the last on screen.
END RESULT: +10 for Sayid

4x06: THE OTHER WOMAN
1) Jack gets points for discovering a new person. Damon and Carlton said in one of their podcasts that Harper was not the Smoke Monster or an Island vision. She was the real Harper. We took away Smokey points from Jack and Juliet, but Jack should have rebounded by picking up points for discovering Harper. Juliet had pulled ahead of Jack and by the time Jack caught up with her, she was talking to Harper. Since Jack happened across her, he gets discovery points.
END RESULT: +20 for Jack

2) Juliet gets points for hearing the Whispers. Later in the episode, Juliet is approaching the Tempest station and there is a very faint, one-line whisper. Several of you requested that I go back and examine this scene. Lostpedia may have listed it as a Whisper, but the LFL does not use Lostpedia as our scoring guide. I turned my TV's closed captioning system on and it did say there was a whisper at that point. It's debateable as to whether or not Juliet even heard it or reacted to it, but because she was on screen and concious at the time it happened, we're giving her the points.
END RESULT: +30 for Juliet

WEEK 12 POINTS RULINGS:
1) The episode is ruled as being Oceanic 6 centric. While Hurley, Sun and Jack had specific flashforwards in the episode, the first two were generic, O6-centric FF's. Since all members of the O6 were present in each of the two generic FF's, all of them get FF and Centricity points. Since centricity is awarded, no "Appears in Someone Else's FF" points are awarded for any of the O6.

Since the O6 is given centricity, Mr. Paik and Nadia only receive one dose of "Appears in..." points, even though they pop up more than once during the episode. This was a slightly technical ruling that actually made the scoring for the episode easier for a change. :-)

2) Hurley does NOT get Whispers points. Yes, he heard whispers in his house, but not THE Whispers. The whispering was from the guests at his surprise party.

It should come as no surprise that "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1" was the highest scoring episode of the season to date. With six characters scoring centricity and flashforward points, there was very little standing in the way of this episode's points dominance.

Being Oceanic 6 centric, the episode highly favored the League Characters who are already scoring very well this year. Those of you with Locke, Sawyer, Desmond and Jin don't have much hope left, but this was 95% fun and 5% competitive anyway, right?

Yes, it's the same picture as last time, but it's going to be a continuation of the finale! "There's No Place Like Home, Parts 2 & 3" will be scored as one two-hour long episode and will determine our winner!

Now currently, there is a three-way tie for first place. With glorious prizes to be awarded for first, second and third place, we would need to break this tie if it stands. Like Benjamin Linus, DarkUFO and I have a plan. If you listened to last week's ODI podcast, then you'll know what our tie-breaking procedure will be. Otherwise, you'll find out what the process is if and when we need to use it.

So, one more episode left for the season! It's sure to be awesome. I'm expecting to see more multi-focused flashbacks/flashforwards. There will probably be a few for some of our Island dwellers that weren't covered this past week and probably a few more for the Oceanic 6. We've been promised an exciting two-hour treat and a cliffhanger that will leave us begging for more, and I think it will be everything we're hoping for.

Of course, you'll need to check back in with DarkUFO frequently during the off-season hiatus, as Dark will have yet another onslaught of fun tournaments and awards to act as Hiatus withdrawal relief. And there will also be sign-ups for the Season 5 DarkUFO Lost Fantasy League in June! If you missed out this past season, stay tuned to get your picks in for what we're hoping will be a bigger and better LFL!

I'll see you in two weeks!

SpoilerTV forums!

Hi Everyone!

I'm Pete. I've been working behind the scenes for the last month or so helping Dark to finish of the SpoilerTV forums and get them ready for our general release (Which was today! Check them out here!)

I'm making this post as an addition to Dark's invitation to the forums, by supplying all the SpoilerTV readers with a few bits of useful information about the forums, and a few reasons to head over there.

We currently have mandatory registration on the forums to help ensure that no-one gets in to just cause trouble. Once you're signed up with a name of your choice (I'm "Pete", But we've only got 600 members in beta so a lot of names should still be free!), you'll receive a message from Bella, one of the Community Administrators. This message will contain a link to our forum rules which, please, please just read and adhere to! :). They're not to strict and we're not planning to be draconian, brutal enforcers of them (Dark has supplied everyone with cattle prods though, be warned!), all the Mod team wants to do is ensure the forums are a great place for discussion, and we've no plans to put anybody off unless they step really out of line.

The first three forums are for introducing yourself, and include a few announcements from Dark, Myself and our Technical Guru, "Maqrkk" about the development of the forums.

Following that, we have a forum for all the main shows that SpoilerTV has a blog about - one forum per show for Spoiler, and then "Non-Spoiler discussion" about the program. For the more popular shows we have official weekly episode discussions, as well as threads about all the major theories, spoilers and latest happenings with each show. Please feel free to immediately start taking part in any discussion you want. Everyone so far has been really friendly - and as long as you're careful not to reveal spoilers in the wrong place (Or pick a fight with someone), then that should be maintained and the forums should grow and develop amazingly.

Another great thing about our forums is our huge Off-topic discussion section which has proved very, very popular with our beta testers. We've got space for talk about Books, Games, Music and Sports, as well as the new 'Chic', open all day Cafe forum, which already has hundreds of threads relating to everything else our quickly developing community wants to talk about. Dark, The ODI (Who's been a regular throughout the beta stage) and the whole Mod team are regularly chilling in these forums to converse with the SpoilerTV community so its a fantastic place to blow a few online hours in between your favourite TV-shows.

The off-topic section also contains the affectionately named 'Chunky Ham' Spam forum. The community has already dived right in to creating competitions, forum games and the generally pointless but somehow entertaining threads usually related with that sort of forum. (I should mention here that Post counts are disabled on this particular forum! Sorry!)

Lastly, at the request of many of the beta testers (The requests forum is still around for the rest of the world, so head on down there if you have any ideas for the forums :)), we've built a Fan Contribution section, split into 'Fan Art', 'Fan Fiction' and 'Fan Videos'. These are the creativity forums for the entire community to enjoy and fill with their own creations relating to their favorite show.

The forums are looking really fantastic, everyone I've spoken to had been excited about 'Go Live day' as we've been calling it, and so today, I want to welcome all the new users who will be joining us and hope this Post has helped to encourage a few more people to visit us over at the forums. It's well worth a visit - even for a moment to check at some of the snazzy show related images and graphics we've slotted around the place! Hope to see you all soon and look forward to discussing all the best TV shows in a environment much more suited to it than the Blog Comment boxes we've had to put up with until now ;)!

Finally, I just want to thank All the Moderators and Administrators who have been working incredibly hard with me and Dark to get these forums ready for today, and all the Beta testers who have kept us busy sorting out problems and improving the forum from every angle. And most importantly, I want to thank DarkUFO on behalf of everyone for getting around to setting up these forums!

See you all on the other Side!
Pete
Chief Administrator, SpoilerTV forums.

Episode 4x12 -- 50 Ways to Leave the Island by Anna

Hey All,
Last week we decided to add my good friend Anna's recap to the front page here. Most of you loved the recap and her style of mixing various components from theories, notes, and screencaps.

Her post is currently the 3rd highest post on this site and she was extremely honored by all the love and feedback from all of you.

Well here is her new recap and boy, for recapping a setup episode she has done a great job again.

Enjoy and namaste.

INTRODUCTION: HOMEWARD BOUND

A couple of weeks ago when I wrote about “Something Nice Back Home”, I likened it to the classic season-finale set-up episode. Well, little did I know that the first hour of the finale “There’s No Place Like Home” would be the actual set-up episode. So now I suppose the former would be the set-up to the set-up episode?

Honestly, I don’t think it was entirely necessary, especially during a season where due to the writer’s strike the storyline had to be condensed into a shorter length of time. The plot just seemed to eek itself forward in this installment, as about half of the time was spent off-island after the Oceanic 6 settle in. Nonetheless, this is LOST, and there is always some meaty pulp which can be strained from the juice.

MOTHER AND CHILD REUNION

As the airplane doors parted, for a brief second I saw the Swan Hatch opening, and wondered if we would see John Locke peering in with a lit torch. One begins to expect such things on a show such as LOST, but what I did not expect was to be reaching for the tissues so early in the episode.

The music and lack of dialogue made the reunion scene quite emotional, as Jack greeted his mother, Hurley greeted his parents, and Sun greeted her mother, while avoiding her father. As Sayid was then pulled aside by Hurley to also be welcomed by the folks, it got to me even more. But the final kick to the heart was when I saw Kate and Aaron all alone, looking around, wind-blown, both of them now without their true parents. It was a very poignant scene when we consider how the theme of parent issues permeates the show.

KEEP THE CUSTOMER SATISFIED

Although the Oceanic press conference was a bit unbelievable, it was also a bit revealing in the way that the O6 answered their questions. We all know they are given a large sum of money by Oceanic Airlines. We also know they are hiding something huge but still don’t know why. Was this their own idea, to fabricate a story to possibly protect the Island and their friends left behind? Did Oceanic actually bribe them to stay quiet with the settlements given out? Or did some representative of Widmore possibly orchestrate their rescue and subsequent cover-up? Who was that mysterious person on the plane that Karen Decker said hello to before she tells the O6 they are about to land?

I found it interesting that the name for the island the O6 first supposedly came to is named ‘Membata’. According to Lostpedia, it means ‘doubt’ in Indonesian, as in, “I doubt that’s what really happened!” In addition, I am wondering if they’re referencing the tsunami of December 2004 when Ms. Decker explains to the press that a typhoon had washed up a small Indonesian fishing boat to the island. It seems to me that we are close to the date in our timeline. I could be totally off with this, however, as time and dates on and off the Island are a bit difficult to pinpoint.

LOVES ME LIKE IRAQ

Sayid is an extremely passionate character, and to me his love story with Nadia is just as iconic as Desmond and Penny, or Sun and Jin. After searching for her for 7 years and returning from the Island, the two are finally reunited in another highly emotional scene.

One complaint that I have heard in my own circles is the frustration with knowing who gets off the Island and what happens in the flash-forwards, as some people believe that this has somewhat ruined the suspense for them. Sometimes I tend to agree, and sometimes, I disagree. I think what the writers are giving us is a very different way of telling a story that we are only beginning to learn the implications and complexity of.

For instance, if we did not know the events that lead up to Sayid being recruited by Ben, this scene would be just a very moving reunion of lovers. However, because we know that sometime not long in the future after they are married Nadia is murdered, another level is added to their meeting. Now the scene evokes emotions that are bittersweet and deeply heartbreaking, as we are already aware that their bliss will unfortunately be short-lived.

FATHER AND DAUGHTER

At this point, I can’t help but wonder if Sun happens to shop at ‘Black and White Maternity Dresses R Us’. But aside from her lack of color, she is certainly not for lack of fire.

Sun marches into her father’s office and does not hesitate to give him a verbal lashing that I doubt anyone saw coming. She defiantly accuses him of hating Jin and being one of the two people responsible for his “death”. In a final, grand act of revenge, she reveals that she used her Oceanic Airlines settlement to purchase a controlling stock in Paik Heavy Industries, her father’s own company.

I am not really concerned with the question of how she had enough money to buy such a large part of the company, even if there does seem to be a plot hole here. What does fascinate me is that the Island, and what happened when she left it, has really changed Sun. Having to part with her husband (whether alive or dead) has given her this edge that has allowed her to confront this hugely oppressive force in her life. It was honestly just plain fun to cheer Sun on and watch Mr. Paik squirm.

I also do not think this is the last we will be seeing of him, as if you remember from The Lost Experience his company is linked to Charles Widmore and most likely to the Island as well. Could this be another reason why Sun bought into Paik? It would be a nice turn of events if we later find out that Sun’s newly acquired resources do indeed come into play in the O6’s return back to the Island.

WHEN NUMBERS GET SERIOUS

I was very moved when Hurley’s father revealed to him the fully-restored Camaro that they had once worked on together when Hurley was just a boy. I almost cried again when Mr. Reyes told him that he felt as if Hurley was with him when he was restoring it. Unfortunately, however, the white rabbit’s foot on his keychain was of no service. As soon as Hurley gets into the car he immediately discovers the NUMBERS on his speedometer and subsequently freaks out. Heck, it even freaked me out, so I give my kudos to the writers for another great ‘whoa’ moment. It would seem that the Island wasted no time in its assault on Hurley’s heart and mind, as he is the first of the O6 to become terribly affected after leaving.

THAT WAS YOUR MOTHER

Although the funeral service for Christian Shepherd seemed a bit forced and untimely, it did serve the purpose of bringing Carole Littleton, Claire’s mother, into the storyline again. Apparently, Ms. Littleton had awakened from the comatose state that Claire had left her in before crashing on the Island. In a very “Star Wars” moment where I could almost hear Emperor Palpatine’s voice speaking over her, Carole reveals to Jack that he has a sister.

Finally, we now know for sure that Jack is aware that Aaron is his nephew. However this now makes his aversion to Aaron even stranger, as there must be some reason that Jack does not want to see this child later on in the future timeline. Even if it is somehow tied to his own manufactured guilt from his failed plan to get everyone off the Island, it seems harsh to me that he would not want to see his own nephew, or provide him with love in memory of the mother who cannot be with him.

There are many cases of character connection on the show, but rarely do the characters themselves actually find out. In a final moment of irony, Carole walks over to Kate and Aaron. She is not at all aware Aaron is actually Claire’s child, and she looks at him admiringly for a moment before telling Kate that he is beautiful. There must be some very big reason the O6 are keeping to their story if they cannot even allow a grieving grandmother to know her only grandson.

ONE TRICK PONY

Poor Jack. He really hasn’t been making the best decisions lately. Make that all season. His heart is in the right place, but his mind is still stuck in hero mode. So it is only fitting that he decides to go traipsing off into the jungle after helicopter pilot extraordinaire Frank Lapidus and the Agents of Doom he doesn’t know are flying with him. Perhaps if Juliette had done a better job of stitching him up, maybe we wouldn’t need to worry about his guts falling out. Kate doesn’t seem overly concerned, though. I think she takes any opportunity she can get to spend some alone time with the Doc, even if he is bleeding profusely from an open flesh wound. That’s just love juice, baby.

Enter one overly casual Miles and one overly distressed Sawyer with child. I give this scene entirely to Josh Holloway, as once again my heartstrings were totally tugged upon. He did a brilliant job of expressing extreme exhaustion, disbelief, sadness, and fear all within a few seconds and all without saying a word.

However, it doesn’t take long for him and Jack to begin arguing about their previous decisions and about what to do next. In a classic Sawyer and Jack game of verbal table-tennis, Sawyer calls Jack out on how he constantly feels like he has to get everyone off the Island saying, “You’re like a damn broken record!” Jack then spins right round and decides to continue the trek alone to Kate’s dismay. I can’t tell if the look of shock on her face is for fear of Jack’s life, or for fear of sudden motherhood.

Nonetheless, the scene is closed with another classic line as Sawyer begrudgingly stomps off after Jack yelling, “Hold up! You don’t get to die alone!” Sawyer is now in hero mode as well, and the two of them disappear into the greenery to more than likely join the party that’s about to go down at the Orchid Station.

SAVE THE LIFE OF MY CHILD

Meanwhile, back at the beach, Sayid arrives with the zodiac boat he borrowed from the freighter to further separate the survivors and make us have to speculate even harder about how the O6 actually get back together and escape the Island. Kate also returns and plays hot-potato with Aaron, passing him off to Sun with a quickness so that she can run back into the jungle after Jack.

And who would have thought that Daniel Faraday, the lying, time-traveling physicist with memory issues, would step up and actually participate in trying to save the Islanders? Somebody mentioned the Orchid and that freaked Danny boy the heck out. As Sayid and Kate run off into the jungle after Sawyer and Jack, Dan starts the first ferry of 6 back to the freighter. This first batch includes Jin, Sun, Aaron, and some redshirts to mix it up and make it seem more natural. When Dan starts to pull away, he turns back to Charlotte who is watching from the shoreline and gives her a look that I could only interpret as, “I sure hope I don’t die!” Charlotte also gives him a look in return that I interpreted as, “I’m sure glad Jin isn’t going to break your fingers now!”

THE BOXER

Well it didn’t take long for Ben to be back to his old, cryptic self. I wonder if his moping around in “Cabin Fever” was indeed just an act in order to manipulate Locke. Once they learned they needed to move the Island, Ben seems to have sprung back into his ‘game-master’ role, and even makes a pit stop to uncover a conveniently placed BOX of supplies hidden under a rock. Even more convenient is the person perched on the mountainside already prepared to send messages to Ben via a signaling mirror. Who was Ben communicating with and what was he saying that he had to keep secret from Locke? Was he telling the Others, who had sought refuge at a place called the Temple, to now meet them at the Orchid? What does he know that made it so easy for him to turn himself over to Keamy and Co.? And why do I have that feeling again that somehow Ben has experienced all of these events before?

OLD FRIENDS

I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to see the Others, and when Kate first mentions the tracks she found had doubled back behind them, I just knew we were going to have another reference to “The Hunting Party”. When Kate and Sayid wouldn’t put down the guns they had aimed at Richard, another “Light ‘em up” moment occurs and the sounds of guns being aimed at our two O6’ers can be heard as the Others pop out of the jungle from all directions.

After realizing they are totally surrounded, Kate and Sayid surrender and are marched along with the shabby-clothed company towards some unknown destination. If my previous thought that Ben was communicating with them earlier via the mirror is indeed correct, I have a feeling they may indeed also be heading to the Orchid.

THE BIG BRIGHT GREEN PLEASURE MACHINE

The Orchid Station has been one of my biggest curiosities and source for theories about the show since it was first shown to us in the form of an orientation film released last summer. In this film, Dr. Halliwax briefly mentions the purpose of the research being done there saying, “The unique properties of this Island created a kind of Casimir effect”, which is an actual force in quantum physics involving electromagnetic fields.

Exotic matter with negative energy density is required to stabilize a wormhole. Morris, Thorne and Yurtsever pointed out that the quantum mechanics of the Casimir effect can be used to produce a locally mass-negative region of space-time, and suggested that negative effect could be used to stabilize a wormhole to allow faster than light travel.

-- from Wikipedia

He also describes their studies as “highly volatile and potentially dangerous”. This seems to correlate with what Ben tells Hurley about moving the Island, as he says, “doing it is both dangerous and unpredictable. It's a measure of last resort.”

With everything that we have learned so far, I have a hunch that moving the island is going to involve creating another kind of purple-sky event like we witnessed during the Swan Hatch implosion. The best I can describe what I believe will happen is that entire “snow globe” around the island is going to be manipulated along with its naturally-occurring electromagnetic forces to basically create a wormhole around the entire Island, allowing it to slip slide away…

CONCLUSION: EVERYTHING PUT TOGETHER FALLS APART

Yet another level of duality can be discerned in this installment, as we have now seen both reunions and separations. As soon as I thought everyone was going to be meeting up in one place, the writers throw us a curveball of chaos, and our O6 become scattered even further apart than before. At least in the previous episode they were all on the Island. However, now we have some of our cast still on the beach and some of them at the Orchid. In addition, Kate and Sayid have now been captured by the Others, though I believe they too are headed to the former greenhouse station. Finally, we even have some of our O6 seeking refuge on the freighter which seems doomed to explode at any moment via that truckload of C4 that’s somehow connected to the device strapped around Martin Keamy’s arm.

The beginning of this episode is also the end product of the events that are about to take place. Sun didn’t even need to tell Jack that they were in shock, it was obvious. One can only guess that the group left in a hurry and under extremely extenuating circumstances. Whatever we are about to see the Orchid do, it is going to quite possibly make true a small, two-word mantra we first learned from that creepy brainwashing video in the notorious Room 23.

Everything changes.

*I write about LOST because I love the challenge of deciphering the clues and adding the pieces together. My thoughts are based solely on the show, the LOST Experience, and random research, as I try to avoid spoilers, promos, and even future episode titles. I love to guess what is going on, but I also like to do so in a way that leaves some of the conclusions still up to you. I do not know the answers and am often wrong. Whatever the truth turns out to be, it has been the journey that has meant the most to me.*

Hey Losties,
How are you all doing this week!? This week's episode of LOST, was the first part of the Season 4 finale. I really felt that it was a solid episode and provided us with the perfect setup into the two hour Part 2 of the finale which will air on May 29th at a special time at 9PM.

This week we bring you a special Season Finale Edition of the ODI LOST Podcast. Why is it special!? Well first of all we usually release both parts of the podcast together, but this week, DarkUFO has posted a an Episode Synopsis and Major spoilers for the upcoming finale that we cover in the spoilers part of the podcast. So we had to split the podcast into two separate posts.

In order to protect fans that do not want to be spoiled the only way you can access the spoilers podcast you will have to visit our spoilers sections.

Now for all of you that do not like spoilers Part 1 does contain our weekly episode recap and analysis of all the key points. We talk about the Three Stooges (Ben, Locke and Hurley) on the way to The Orchid, Sawyer and Jack being the heroes, Sayid and Kate meeting Richard Alpert and the other Others in the jungle, Daniel helping to get some of the LOSTIES including Sun, Jin and Aaron to the freighter, mention Desmond finding the freighter rigged with tons of C4 explosives and all of the Oceanic 6 flash forward scenes.

The Other Survivors - There's No Place Like Home Podcast

Thanks to Ryan for his latest podcast.

Posted my latest podcast. As promised I talked about the few lines that were cut from the Oceanic 6 press conference this week, including who the other two (make that three) survivors of the plane crash were. I guess it's not spoiler (since it didn't air) but
hopefully someone would find it interesting.
