Clearing up Confusion - Isabel is dead

There have been a lot of comments and emails asking about Isabel and her apparent death. Hopefully we can clear this up finally.

At Comic-Con, Damon Lindelof stated that Isabel was deceased when showing a clip from the S3 DVD. It was also mentioned in the Podcast that you can hear HERE. She was killed as part of the raid on the beach along with Pryce, Tom and Aldo in the Season 3 Finale.

DarkUFO Character Cup Prelim Finals- Matchups 1 & 2 (**Closed**)

Congrats to Dave and Rachel on the victories! They move on to the finals, which begin right now!

Round 2 contained a few difficult matchups, and it seems my non-virtual hat has decided to be no different in providing our matchups for the Finals. The winners of the 4 Finals matchups will move on to the main Character Cup tournament, where they will face off against 60 other Lost characters, many of whom are some of our favorites.

While it may have seemed pointless to run a Prelim tourney, as these characters all stand little chance of winning the main tourney, was it not a fun stroll down memory lane? Perhaps next year we will have to expand the Prelims further. It all depends on what new and exciting characters the producers throw at us.

But that's a whole year away. Let's get down to business. Today's matchups include Flashback Folk, Losties, and Others. Oh my! Vote for your favorites and feel free to express yourself in the comments section.

Aaron Littleton
Status: Lostie (Alive)
Aaron was born on the Island. He is the son of Claire Littleton and her ex-boyfriend Thomas. Claire was told by a psychic that only she must raise Aaron. Aaron was sought after by the Others while still in his mother’s womb and was kidnapped by Rousseau shortly after his birth.

Johnny
Status: Flashback Character (Alive)
Johnny was Hurley’s best friend and coworker at Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack. He quit his job when Hurley quit after winning the lottery. When Johnny found out Hurley had won the lottery, Johnny changed on him. Johnny resented his friend’s newfound wealth and ran off with Hurley’s girlfriend, Starla.

Steve Jenkins
Status: Lostie (Alive)
Steve is one of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. He assisted Michael in clearing debris after a cave-in trapped Jack inside and also helped look for Claire’s attacker after she woke up screaming in the night. He is also commonly confused with Scott, who is dead.

Isabel
Status: Other (Deceased)
Isabel was one of the Others. She was in charge of investigating Juliet’s plot to kill Ben and the murder of Danny Pickett. She was also seen presiding over Juliet’s sentencing. While Jack was locked in Sawyer’s old cage, she asked him if he knew what his tattoos said.

Character Cup Progress in Bracket Form

I closed voting a little early today, not that the results were likely to change much anyway.

My non-virtual hat has selected our matchups for the Prelim Finals so I am able to map out progress brackets for the first 2 matchups of the Finals (have to hold you in suspense for tomorrow! :-)

Please remember that this tournament is NOT set up NCAA style. I'm merely taking the results from the last few rounds and manipulating their order so they fit a bracket-style layout.

DarkUFO Character Cup Prelim Tourney- Round 2, Matchups 7 & 8 (**Closed**)

Congrats to Johnny and Ms. Hawking on their victories, despite bringing in the lowest vote total and number of comments thus far in the Character Cup. Their victories mean that today is the last day for Round 2 of the prelims. Whoever wins today will go back into the non-virtual hat and paired up with one of the other Round 2 winners for the Prelim Finals!

That's right folks, we're almost up to the start of the main tourney. I know that many of you have been getting antsy for it, but thanks for bearing with me while we went through this Prelim tourney business. Hopefully it will have been worth it in the end.

Today brings us another unique piece of devilry from my hat- characters with some level of connection with each other going head to head. We've got a battle of Hurley's flashback characters and a battle of Juliet's flashbacks characters. But one from each must be let go, so I'll let you to it.

Dave
Status: Flashback Character (Imaginary)
Dave is a figment of Hurley’s imagination. He appeared as a fellow patient during Hurley’s stay in the mental institution, where he coaxed Hurley into continuing his eating problem and resisting medication and treatment. He also appeared to Hurley on the Island, claiming it was all in Hurley’s head.

Dr. Brooks
Status: Flashback Character (Alive)
Dr. Brooks is a doctor at the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute. He provided therapy and professional advice to Hurley during his stay there. Dr. Brooks helped Hurley deal with his eating problems and showed Hurley that his friend Dave was just a figment of his imagination.

Rachel Carlson
Status: Flashback Character (Alive)
Rachel is the sister of Juliet Burke. Before Juliet went to the Island, Rachel was being treated for cancer, while also undergoing an experimental fertility procedure run by Juliet. This resulted in Rachel becoming pregnant. She gave birth before Juliet could return from the Island and named her son Julian, after her sister.

Edmund Burke
Status: Flashback Character (Deceased)
Edmund was Juliet’s ex-husband and boss at Miami Central University Medical Research laboratory in Florida. After discovering Juliet had been testing experimental fertility treatments on her sister with success, he wanted in on the glory. He was struck and killed by a bus in front of Juliet.
