UK's LOST Marathon is underway!

HOARDS OF DEVOTED LOST FANS QUEUE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE UK’S FIRST EVER PUBLIC TV MARATHON FOR LOST THE FINAL SEASON

LONDON, Monday 13th September 2010: Fans of the hit TV series Lost camped out overnight at the Prince Charles Cinema in London's Leicester Square hoping to secure a place at the UK’s first ever public TV marathon.

The mega fans are embarking on a quest to be crowned the ultimate Lost fan by watching all 121 episodes back-to-back to mark the Blu-ray and DVD release of Lost The Final Season, out today.

Lost fans queued outside the cinema from 7am to embark on their quest to watch over 80 hours of the gripping drama that has kept audiences around the world on the edge of their seats for the past six years.

Fans applied online and queued outside today for their chance to demonstrate their diligence, passion and physical endurance to survive the ultimate Lost challenge.

Hoards of devoted followers - dressed as their favourite characters from the show - stretched down Leicester Square from the early hours of this morning to ensure that they received the best seat before the viewing commenced at 10am. Armed with their very own survival packs including sleeping bags, pillows and packed lunches, the followers set way to experience the best of Lost from the heart-pounding opening episode to the suspense-filled finale.

Executive Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse said: "For those of you watching all six seasons of the show in one long marathon, we applaud you, we admire you and we thank you for your fandom. But we take no legal responsibility for you!"

Regulated breaks will be taken throughout the competition as fans attempt to complete the unprecedented mass participation event. The event will be overseen by on-site paramedics to ensure the health and safety of all participants.

The Lost Marathon is set to finish on Thursday September 16th.

The Prince Charles Cinema is located at 7 Leicester Place, London WC2.

All participants will received a bumper Lost goodie-bag and are free to leave at any time.
Doors opened at 9:00am and the screening started at 10am m. Only the first 280 entrants were admitted.

'Lost' Season 6 set tops sales, Blu-ray charts

Television shows on DVD may peter out after the first few seasons, but not "Lost."

The celebrated TV show's sixth and final season debuted as the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray Disc release the week ending Aug. 29, despite a price tag three times higher than the average new movie.

On the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, "Lost: The Complete Sixth Season," from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, snatched the top spot from another Disney release, the Miley Cyrus film "The Last Song," which slipped to No. 3 its sophomore week.

Sony Pictures' "The Back-Up Plan," a romantic comedy with Jennifer Lopez that grossed $37.5 million in theaters, debuted at No. 2, selling 75% as many units as "Lost."

"Lost" also debuted at No. 1 on Nielsen VideoScan's dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart, with the newly issued "Lost: The Complete Series" bowing at No. 2, despite a suggested retail price of $279.99.

But then again, Blu-ray Disc and "Lost" seem made for each other, with 20% of all "Lost" season sets sold last week in the high-definition format.

On Home Media Magazine's rental chart for the week, "The Back-Up Plan" debuted at No. 1, bumping 20th Century Fox's "Date Night" to No. 2.

"Lost" wasn't the only TV release to score big with consumers. Paramount Home Entertainment's "NCIS: The Seventh Season" debuted at No. 4 on First Alert, while 20th Century Fox's "The Simpsons: Season 13" bowed at No. 7.
