Michael Emerson teases "New Man in Charge" LOST Featurette

Thanks to DarkUFO reader Josh for sending us the following.

I recently had the opportunity to meet Michael Emerson when he visited his hometown in Iowa. I was able to set up my camera and record him talking to old classmates and fans. I asked him about the "New Man in Charge" featurette and he had a few interesting things to say. Not really a whole lot of meat, but I thought I'd send it to you anyway.

Let us know in the comments who think will make it to the semi-finals and final and who are your dark horses? Which are the tough Round matchups?

Greetings Lost fans!

Like last year we're going to use a "March Madness"-style bracket contest! For those of you who don't know what March Madness is, it's a 64 team single elimination tournament featuring the best college basketball teams in the United States. One of the main reasons that March Madness is so revered is because, from the Sunday when the matchups are announced to the Thursday when the games actually start, people go crazy predicting how the tournament is going to transpire through an activity often referred to as "filling out a bracket".

The site we'll be using to fill out our Lost brackets is http://www.dawgsled.com/darkufo, a “home-grown” site that has been used to track March Madness contests for the past few years. We’ve re-wired the site for use in the Lost universe, and we’ve already drawn a (mostly) random bracket of the top 64 episodes in the series.

Your job will be to go to this site and predict the entire tournament--from the first match through the championship final. You'll have until 1st July to get this done. On July 1st, the bracket will "lock", the site will switch over to "scoring and tracking" mode, and the actual matches will begin on DarkUFO's site in exactly the same manner as last year, except that there won't be a "re-draw" after every round.

After every match, the scoreboard on the bracket site will be updated. For every matchup that you correctly forecast the winner for, you'll be awarded points. Throughout the tournament, you'll be able to see where you stand against everyone else in the entire world.

Remember: When you’re filling out your bracket, choose the winning episode based on who you THINK will win, which will sometimes be different than the episode that you WANT to win. For the Final you also need to enter in the % amount that each episode will get in case of a tie.

Winning bracket gets a Season 6 Lost DVD set!

How Lost should have ended?

It’s been a month since the Lost finale aired and you know what that means: Make way for the parodies! The silly kids over at How It Should Have Ended — the Starz Digital animated web series that proposes alternative conclusions to popular movies and TV shows — have set their sights on the polarizing Lost swan song. And the results are undeniably ROTFLMFAO…

Lost Fantasy League- Official Results

It's all over, Lost fans! While there were a few items brought up regarding the last two episodes of the season, none of your questions involved characters that were at or near the top of their respective groups. This means that nothing potentially ground-breaking was pointed out and our results stand as previously posted.

Once again, here are your winners:

1st Place: nomecopies (PerdidosporLOSTClub) 7,270 points
Roster: Kate, Sun, Desmond, Claire, Rose, Cindy, Charlie
Prize: Season 6 DVD and Soundtrack

2nd Place: pipan (DarkUFO) 7,260 points
Roster: Jack, Sun, Desmond, Claire, Rose, Cindy, Charlie
Prize: Season 6 DVD

3rd Place: TimeRip Texans (DarkUFO) 7,255 points
Roster: Jack, Sayid, Desmond, Claire, Bernard, Smokey, Charlie
Prize: Season 6 Soundtrack

So that does it for the third and final year of the Lost Fantasy League. It's been a lot of fun and a lot of work bringing this unique game to you all. I hope you all had fun with it. Over the next few weeks, I'll be tossing out some fun facts about the Season 6 LFL and some stats from the past three years via Twitter and the LFL Facebook group.

Just because the LFL is over doesn't mean you're getting rid of me just yet! I will be back later this summer to run the final DarkUFO Character Cup, so be sure to check for occasional updates about that. In the meantime, you can follow me at my own website, Long Shot Reviews.

Totally Lost - Finale Episode

One month ago, Lost vanished into the light, signing off with an epic, 2 1/2-hour installment—the last of an adventure that spanned six seasons, transported us to fantastic/fantastical places, and provoked an unhealthy amount of analysis. Today, we here at Totally Lost finally return to the gravesite to lay our souls bare—and our supersized finale down.

Lost Fantasy League: Unofficial Results!

Wow, Lost fans! The series finale of Lost broke all the records! "The End" amassed a stunning 5,470 points. It was a two and a half hour long episode but there for the first time ever there were more points scored in a one episode than there are contestants in the Lost Fantasy League! What's more impressive is how many characters were involved and how drastically the leader board has changed. Be sure to read all the important point rulings!

It's been a long and wild ride but I am glad to say that the scores have been finalized. We are going to leave the results unofficial for a few days. Feel free to look through all the point tallies and rulings. If you see something that is wrong and might have an impact on which contestants make the Top 3, please let us know! Either leave a comment or shoot me an email. I'm pretty satisfied with the scores but we're going to let you have a peek at the work to see if I got it all right. For now, though, here are our current winners:

1st Place: nomecopies (PerdidosporLOSTClub) 7,270 points
Roster: Kate, Sun, Desmond, Claire, Rose, Cindy, Charlie

2nd Place: pipan (DarkUFO) 7,260 points
Roster: Jack, Sun, Desmond, Claire, Rose, Cindy, Charlie

3rd Place: TimeRip Texans (DarkUFO) 7,255 points
Roster: Jack, Sayid, Desmond, Claire, Bernard, Smokey, Charlie

Once again, feel free to double check my work. I want to make sure that everything finishes up fair and square.

Please note: All past important point rulings are considered final. The only episodes you need to concern yourself with are "What They Died For" and "The End." Also, do not waste your time or mine by arguing against a ruling that you do not like. I am only concerned with point rulings that can be proven to be incorrect based on information already presented on the show. Conjecture and opinion do not matter; just the facts.

In a few of days, I will post any final point adjustments, a quick look back at three years of the Lost Fantasy League and, of course, our final winners.

The Tailsection is no more

I found this quite sad when I had a look today. The site The Tailsection was my "darkufo" before I created this site many years ago and I was a contributor over there when it was run by DocArzt. Over the years it lost its relevance after it was taken over by BuddyTV who let the site die a slow death, but I still found it sad that they have now let the Domain expire and is no more and all the old Lost content is forever .... lost, something that will never happen here.

All you get now is a smiling girl on a Search Landing Page.

Details on the Lost Series Finale Extra DVD/Blu-Ray Footage

We just caught up with the island's awesome new "No. 1" at the Monte Carlo Television Festival in, you guessed it, Monte Carlo, and here's what he dished:

"It will address some of the issues, like the food drops, and it will deal with what happened on the island after Hurley took over and how he handled things," Garcia reveals of the DVD bonus feature he shot. "It will give you a taste of what took place after Hurley took over as the new number one. There's a little epilogue thing going on with the DVD."

That little epilogue will be available to fans when Lost: The Complete Collection is released on DVD and Blu-ray August 24.

Blu-Ray
DVD

Inside sources also told me that Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) will be shown in the bonus material. "We'll find out what happens to Walt," says the insider. But when asked who else he worked with, Jorge replied coyly: "There are other people in it, but I'm not going to tell you who." Hmmm!
