Four-time world surfing champion Stephanie Gilmore was struck with an iron bar and suffered a broken wrist as she returned home yesterday to her apartment on Australia's Gold Coast.
Gary Dunne, manager of Gilmore's Rip Curl team, told the Sydney Morning Herald the 22-year-old surfer fought off the intruder, who was captured later by friends and neighbors when he returned to the area.
