Colour Blocking Part 2

I got a mail from a reader named Valerie asking me to explain further on a previous post i did here on colour blocking.
On the side... I like when i get feed back from you guys...Please keep them coming.

In my own opinion there are no hard rules on this new fashion craze. Just follow the basics of pairing  two 'distinct' colours together. If you find it hard wearing 'opposite' colours, try pairing colours in the same colour family together e.g blue and purple.

However you can use the colour chart above to visually pair colours together. It makes it alot easier deciding colours that work together and those that don't.

On the side.......
Men can also rock the colour blocking trend.Be inspired by
rapper Naeto C, who is rocking the trend on
the cover of Complete Fashion.
more colour blocking ideas and explanations after the jump

Tone down acidic brights  like
Yellow or bright green (what i call 'Lemon'.... don't know
if that is the right name, pls don't crucify me ..lol!!)
with neutrals like white or black.

You can colour block with your accessories just
like what Uche Jombo did in the pic above.
Notice the contrasting shoes and belt.

If you are not bold enough to wear two extreme colours,
try rocking two colours in the same colour family.
A good example is fuchsia pink and peach or baby pink.
Be inspired by the sisi above.
You can pair bright colours with
neutral ones like the sisi above.
Who says you can not colour block with ankara.
Be inspired by ex beauty queen Ene Lawal.
Notice the green ankara blouse.

Be fashion forward in your native attire
like Shade Okoya.
Notice how distinct but beautiful the colours are.

All in all Colour blocking is easy if you master the basics and
work around what suits you.

Have a Fashion Forward Sunday ahead.
