Lost Starts on Thursday 14th February????

Update: 23:35 GMT Well now it looks like ABC have realised that they may have jumped the gun. The site now says TBD.

http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index

So .... was that the real date or as I and others suspect just a placeholder. Let's hope that Lost stays on Wednesdays and that the student who was updating the site has been called into his bosses office :)

Thanks to Sabina for the heads up.

It appears that on the Official Lost Web Page that they have just posted the Premiere Date. This is a bit of a curveball as none of my sources predicted this date. Is this some intern getting excited or is this the real date. Only time will tell.

It also says that it stars 6/7c?

What do you all think of this?

Lost
Thu Feb 14 -6/-7c
Stay tuned on February 2008!
The band of friends, family, enemies and strangers must continue to work together against the cruel weather and harsh terrain if they want to stay alive. But as they have discovered during their 70-plus days on the island, danger and mystery loom behind every corner, and those they thought could be trusted may turn against them. Even heroes have secrets...

DarkUFO goes Mobile

I've had a couple of people ask if it was possible to access DarkUFO via mobile phone and at first I thought it would be too much hassle to setup. However after a little digging around I've got 2 parts of the site setup as Mobile sites. Obviously things like Video and Polls won't work but it should be more than sufficient to get the latest news etc.

If anyone has a mobile phone would they mind testing the following sites and let me know if you have any problems and/or suggestions, or simply a "yes" to say it works :)

http://darkufo.mofuse.mobi/ (Homepage)
http://lostspoilers.mofuse.mobi/ (Spoilers Page)

Just pop the above into your phones browser.

If the tests go as planned I'll open up some of the other parts of the site to mobile access.

Thanks.

With a massive thanks to Susan who went to a lot of time and trouble to get this mobisode to us all by having to video it off from her phone. The video and audio quality therefore is not the best but it's certainly a lot better than nothing, and with the strike we're all after a little good Lost news. Hopefully ABC will release the full quality version soon.

So once again here is the 1st Lost Mobisode along with a transcript (courtesy of Leslie's a Bitchin Name).

Thanks Susan!

LOST - Missing Pieces

THE WATCH

[Jack throwing rocks into the ocean. Wearing shades, hair is longer than normal].

Christian: Whatcha doin there kiddo?

[camera turns to show Christian walking towards Jack on a beach. They are in front of the hotel where Jack gets married.]

Jack: Just throwing rocks.
Christian: Good! It's good to the Rocking Throwing out before you get married.
Jack: It was either this or being inside with Sarah and the Wedding Planner figuring out where all the flowers should go.
Christian: Wise choice. Listen, before tonight, before things get crazy, I wanted to give you something. This was my dad's and I thought it'd be fitting.
[Christian pulls a watch out of a white handkerchief]
Jack: I've never seen you wear it before.
Christian: That's because I never did. See, your grandfather didn't really like your mom. He thoguht marrying her was a mistake. He told me, to my face, that the day that I got married, he'd give me this watch. So I never wore it.
Jack: Are you trying to tell me something?
Christian: You made..the absolute right choice.
[Jack puts watch on]
Jack: Guess this is really happening, huh?
Christian: Soon as those flowers are set up...and as soon as you run out of rocks.
[pause]
Christian: Do me a favor, huh? If you and Sarah ever have a kid, try to treat it better than I treated you.
Jack: No pressure, huh?
Christian: See you inside, kiddo.

Mobisodes coming out this week?

Update: 17:00 GMT My friend Susan is currently attempting to video the video on her phone as there is no way to save the streamed image as it's protected. Hopefully we will have it online soon but the quality is likely to be very poor.

Update: 16:00 GMT I have a friend who has this video but they don't know how to save/transfer the video from the phone. Does anyone with a Verizon phone know if this is possible?

Thanks to Odul for alerting me to this. It appears the first mobisode is out (see description below). If anyone has a Verizon service and can send me the video I will post it here for other fans to see.

Well first you have to have Verizon service, and then you access V-Cast Video...from there you go to the TV & Film Menu...then you go to the ABC Entertainment Menu...then you scroll down until you find the video labeled Lost.

It is 2 minutes and 42 seconds long.

First mobisode comes on this week, and it's got Jack-Christian in it, supposedly from their past, I'm just quoting olivergreen here, the person who alerted us about it.

It starts with Jack throwing rocks into the ocean and Christian shows up and gives him his grandfather's watch. They talk about marriage and being a father.

"Lost" writers: "Like putting down a 'Harry Potter' book in the middle"

Thanks to Lyly, The ODI and Odul for the following articles.

“Lost” exec producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse joined other writers picketing in front of the Walt Disney studio’s front gate, holding up “WGA on Strike” signs and joining a few pro-union chants.

“Everybody’s a little saddened and surprised and shocked to be out here,” Lindelof said. “A lot of these people weren’t here in 1988 and don’t know what the word ‘strike’ feels like.”

Lindelof and Cuse hit the picket line at 8:30 a.m. with plans to spend several hours. The scribes said the spent much of the weekend putting the finishing touches on episode eight of “Lost,” submitting the script to the network on Friday and tweaking it over the weekend.

“We finished writing by mid-afternoon yesterday,” said Cuse, who noted the script was ready to be shot.

Lindelof and Cuse said the episode happens to include a small cliffhanger – although not enough to end a season on, should the strike progress and the show not resume production this year.

“It will feel like an incomplete season,” Lindelof said. “It will be like putting down a ‘Harry Potter’ book in the middle, at the end of a chapter.”

Will those eight remaining segs be rolled to next year – making for a 24-episode season, as opposed to 16?

“It’s just too early to say,” Cuse said. “It all depends on whether there’s a quick resolution or not.”

Meanwhile, a WGA staffer made the rounds, dropping off a bullhorn and a list of suggested chants – which the strikers (some of whom wore shirts that read, “Unfair is Unfunny”) promptly used.

“When I say ‘union,’ you say ‘power,’” one strike captain chanted. “Union” – to which the marchers responded, “Power!”

Feature film scribe Matthew Goodman stood on the curb in front of Disney, passing out yellow fliers to interested motorists highlighting the WGA’s position.

“I didn’t know I’d be here until 48 hours ago. Not surprisingly, we’ve gotten a lot of local support,” he said, as cars honked their horns.

Also joining the Disney picket line: SAG members, also handing out fliers.

SAG organizer Seneca Cheyne Scott noted that the actors guild will be dealing with many of the same issues when their contract expires next year.

Well, what an interesting first day on the picket line. There were no problems or issues at my location (I was at the main gate in front of Disney), but I did hear about an incident at Sunset Gower Studios where a writer was hit by a car driven by someone who apparently wasn't a strike sympathizer. I heard that strikers surrounded the car and wouldn't let the driver leave until the police came. Yikes. The most that happened at our location is people gave us a thumbs down signal.

If you guys would like to do something, I would suggest writing to studio presidents and asking them to resume fair negotiations. Other than that, I don't think there's anything fans can do.

Hey, seems like my comment about us having only eight scripts written has caused a little "war of words" between Kristen and me. That's so funny and completely unintentional. I think the comment from Kristen came from something Damon said but has been taken out of context. It seems like Damon told Kristen that when we started airing episodes in February, we would have written 14 out of the 16 scripts at that time. Of course, that number doesn't take into consideration the work stoppage of a strike, so that number may not apply by the time February rolls around now that a strike is in effect.

So see? We were both right. So speculate away about what it all means.

That's it. More dispatches from the front lines later. Hope you guys are doing well.

Blu-Ray Artwork change and price drop

Thanks to Fabian for alerting me to the fact the the Season 3 Blue-Ray artwork has been updated and that Amazon have dropped the price for the Blue-Ray version to just $66 if you pre-order it.

If anyone gets this disc maybe you can grab some very nice hi-def screencaps for some of the images that we have posted in the Screencaps and Easter Eggs Section. It may make some items clearer to read.

Lost and the writers strike

As you all probably know by now the Writers' Guild of America announced that they would go ahead with their strike. I've been getting bag loads of emails from worried fans and I've been doing my best to tell them that Lost has nothing to worry about and indeed it might actually be a good thing for the show. This was explained very well by Kristin from E!Online in a recent article and I've included the important snippet below.

From all appearances, Lost may have the best advantage of all series, given that it has been stockpiling new scripts since June and not a single episode has yet aired. At this point, 14 of 16 episodes have been written. And if the strike does last long enough to really affect other series, Lost could very well be the only quality scripted dramas on television in February (along with perhaps 24, though it's far more behind in its scripts due to a major overhaul of location and storyline).
