Thanks to TvShowsOnDVD for the info.
Lost - The Complete 3rd Season: The Unexplored Experience is coming to both DVD and Blu-ray Disc on December 11th, and our friends over at HiDefDigest.com have revealed that those of you who get the Blu-ray version, will get a little something extra. Besides the great-looking Hi-Definition picture, that is. For most of us, the chance to see Lost in beautiful "HDTV" mode on Blu-ray (which DVD can't match) is bonus enough. But, like many hi-def TV-on-DVD releases for either format, Disney is taking a step beyond the picture, and providing the Blu-ray Disc version with an additional extra.
The Blu-ray version of Lost - The Complete 3rd Season is still going to be "The Unexplored Experience", including all the bonus material originally reported for the DVD edition:
* "The World of the Others"
The secrets and mysteries of the Others revealed by the cast and producers
* "Lost Flashbacks"
Never-before-seen glimpses into the past lives of the castaways
* "Lost in One Day"
An exclusive behind-the scene look at 24 hours in the life of this series
* "Lost on Location"
A behind-the-scenes look at 10 episodes
* "The Lost Book Club"
Get hints to the significance of the show's literary references
* Deleted Scenes
* Bloopers
* Audio Commentaries
However, the report at the Hi-Def Digest website says that the Blu-ray Disc version also will contain this extra bonus feature, and these hi-def specs:
In addition, the Blu-ray edition will exclusively include an as yet unnamed, BD-Java-enhanced interactive feature which Disney promises will allow fans to "...rethink what they know about Lost and change the way they watch the show -- viewers will decipher truth from conjecture through an interactive control panel unlocking the mysterious world of Lost." Tech specs include 1080p transfers and uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround audio on all 22 episodes.
Are you as intrigued as we are? Then don't wait: pre-order your copy at Amazon.com right away, and save 30% by locking in their current $86.95 price!

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 15 & 16 (**Closed**)
Here we are, the final day of Round 2. As I said before, the Character Cup WILL continue as normal through the Labor Day weekend. Hopefully our voter turnout isn't affected to badly by the holiday weekend.
With no surprise at all, we congratulate Locke and Desmond (who many thought were paired against each other) for crushing the competition. It doesn't mean that we don't love Penny and Libby, it just means that we love Locke and Desmond that much more. Anywho, they move on, leaving only 2 more spots to fill. These spots will be filled by minor characters, as decided by tonight's matchups.
In matchup #1, we see a man who has appeared on the Island, off the Island, in flashbacks and in realitme taking on a woman who appears to have some control over time and/or destiny. Ethan Rom and Ms. Hawking vie for the title of the most interesting yet freaky minor character.
In matchup #2, the only remaining non-human characters battle for bragging rights. Will Vincent dig a grave for the Smoke Monster, or will Smokey smite the little puppt like the mighty smiter it is?
And be sure to make some nominations for the 'Best in Show' award for Round 2 in the comments section!
Also, just a word to preface Round 3, we will be moving to a 1 matchup per day schedule from here on out, as there will only be 8 matchups next round. That and we want to keep ourselves preoccupied during the hiatus as long as we can, right?
Okay, go vote!
Ms. Hawking
Status: Flashback Character (Alive)
Ms. Hawking is the mysterious owner of the jewelry shop where Desmond attempted to purchase an engagement ring for Penelope. When Desmond offered to purchase the ring, Ms. Hawking told him that he was not supposed to purchase the ring, but that his destiny was instead to go to the Island, push the button and turn the key.
Full Profile
Ethan Rom
Status: Other (Deceased)
Ethan was one of the Others' doctors and was used to recruit Juliet. When Flight 815 crashed, Ethan was sent by Ben to infiltrate the middle section survivors. He made up a cover story but was found out as an imposter. He abducted Claire and hung Charlie from a tree, leaving him to die. When Claire escaped, Ethan was sent to recover her. He was shot and killed by Charlie during an ambush.
Full Profile
Smoke Monster
Status: Miscellaneous (Alive/Active)
The Smoke Monster was described by Rousseau as a security system for the Island. It seems to travel around various locations and either chases away or kills people that it deems a threat of some kind. Its composition is unknown, but it appears able to scan a person's thoughts and memories. The blast door map painted by Radzinski referred to it as 'Cerberus.'
Full Profile
Vincent
Status: Lostie (Alive)
Vincent was originally owned by Brian Porter. When Walt's custody was given over to Michael, Walt was allowed to take Vincent with him. Vincent miraculously survived the crash of Flight 815 and was reunited with Walt. When Walt departed on the raft, Vincent was left in the care of Shannon. Since her death, the Losties have all pitched in to take care of him.

More info on the Lost Game
31st August: 14:50 GMT
Peacefrog has kindly sent us a more detailed description based on the magazine article.
Hello,
Little more videogame info for you. The Creative Director of the game Nicolas Eypert says the game won't solve the mystery, but
" What it will reveal is the answer for your charactor...It's not necessarily the answer for the show, but it's maybe part of the answer." Elliot is an amnesiac photojournalist, and he should be considered one of the redshirts in the background.
Elliots story arc will "start in season One before the opening of the hatch, spans season Two, and covers a little territory from season Three." The game is targeted to the shows fans, "but not the fanatics". "It should be easy to play for anyone who's watched at least a few episodes, and knows several of the main charactors."
Confirmed charactors are: Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Hurley, and Locke. They may have to use soundalikes for the voices. Main Losties will have a helpful role. Hurley will trade goods, Locke will lead you through the jungle and fix things, and Sawyer will "offer off-color nicknames for your charactor."
Story elements like females and their baby troubles will not be part of the game. Each episode will kick off will some sort of crisis shared by elliot and the other losties. For instance an early level has Elliot attempting to stop a fuel leak at the crash site before it blows everyone up. He will often use his camera to take photo evidence to show losties what he has found.
Elliot will have his own flashbacks that will explain his past, why he was in Sydney, and "what issues need resolving to escape the island." Some flashbacks will be triggered by converstions or certain items you find, and some will be fuzzy until you sort out more memories. Elliot will also gain access to the famed Dharmanet, and chat with people who may or may not be the Others.
Expect plenty of action too as you will be running from smokie, polar bears, and "Others snipers". The black Rock is confirmed, as well as a unstable dynamite level. D&C go on to say that making a new charactor was necessary because we already know what Jack and company were doing all this time. This story takes place in what Carlton describes as a parallel world to Lost. " It's not literally the same canon, it expands on certain things that are in the show, and it kind of follows its own path." Damon mentions that Elliot is able "to explore a couple of areas of the island that our charactors either haven't found, or have chosen not to explore.."
Carlton follows by saying "the charactor explores things that you have seen on the show that you maybe wanted to know more about."
There are a few more minor tidbits that i will leave for you guys to peruse at Borders. The only new pics were of Locke w/ Hurley, the Hydra room Jack was held in, and the Black Rock. The Pics look great, and the GRAW engine is well known for its awesome explosion effects, so I am looking forward to palying this. At least a rental. On PS3 and Xbox 360 around the same time as the new season.

Update: 31st August
Thanks to Leslie's a Bitchin Name for posting some additional information over in the Media Mentions section of the site.
Thanks to peacefrog for the following info on the new lost game.
This month's EGM magazine has a 4 page art. on the Game. Not much new info but they interview D&C about the way the story differs from the shows story. The game will cover the arc of a new charactor, Elliot, from the plane crash to the "answer" for this charactor. They hint that the game will include tons of easter eggs for fans, and may hint at answers for the show.
They plainly state however that no show answers would be given away, out of respect for the shows fans. The game will be seven 1 1/2 hour episodes with cliffhangers, playable flashbacks, cameos from most of the majors, and will cover seasons 1-3 from Elliots perspective. One cool thing to note was that D&C said that we will be visiting places that we may have wanted to see in the show, but never will. One example given was the area behind the cement wall in the hatch.
The hatch is gone now, but in the game the player will get to explore more thoroughly, and may even get to see where this magnetic force comes from!
The game runs on UBISOFTS Ghost recon advanced warfighter game engine, and is due around the same time as season 4. Hope this is news to you. Thanks, Peacefrog

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 13 & 14 (**Closed**)
Congratulations to Ben and Hurley, who both easily won their matchups. Richard Alpert and Tom will definitely be missed, but their elimination now will provide us with a more exciting Round 3.
Speaking of excitement, tonight's matchups have been both highly anticipated and highly dreaded. One last Main vs. Main? *gasp!* That means Locke vs. Desmond, right? Wrong!
THE FINAL MAIN VS. MAIN MATCHUP OF ROUND 2 IS DESMOND VS. LIBBY!!!
Congratulations to the few of you who either realized or suspected my ruse. No, I do not consider Libby a main character, but to freak you all out, and add some weight to the tournament, I accepted Lostpedia's billing of Libby as a main character, just this once. Otherwise, the last few matchups of Round 2 would have been predictable and less interesting. Mwa ha ha! I am evil, but it was fun, wasn't it- thinking two heavyweights were duking it out?
Anyway, tonight's other matchup pits John Locke against Desmond's girl. It's more than likely that this is Penny's last stand, but who knows? Maybe a legion of angry and determined Desmond fans will oust one of the early favorites.
We'll just have to wait and see. :->
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Since we have a large American contingent of voters, I wanted to take the time to alert you all to the fact that the Character Cup WILL continue to run over the Labor Day weekend, and on Labor Day itself. So, be sure to check out the site and vote amongst your festivities.
John Locke
Status: Lostie (Alive)
John Locke has spent most of his life trying to be more than people expect of him. His complicated relationship with his father left him paralyzed and bound to a wheelchair and tore apart his only known committed relationship. After the crash of Flight 815, John miraculously regained use of his legs and has spent his time trying to uncover the many mysteries of the Island.
Full Profile
Penelope “Penny” Widmore
Status: Flashback Character/Miscellaneous (Alive)
Penny is the daughter of Charles Widmore and was Desmond's girlfriend, though she is still in love with him. Penny met Desmond after he was 'fired' from the monastery. He ended their relationship suddenly and took off, but Penny found him as he was training for a race around the world. Penny has been looking for Desmond ever since he disappeared, recently making contact with Charlie in the Looking Glass station.
Full Profile
Desmond Hume
Status: Miscellaneous (Alive)
Desmond has been a set designer, a monk, a soldier and a round-the-world race entrant. This last activity resulted in Desmond crashing his boat on the Island. There he was rescued by Kelvin and brought to the Hatch, where he pushed the Button for three years until Flight 815 crashed. Since activating the failsafe, Desmond seems to have precognitive abilities. His girlfriend Penny continues to search for him.
Full Profile
Libby
Status: Tailie (Deceased)
Libby was married once, but her husband died suddenly. She met Desmond in a coffee shop, and gave him her husband's boat for his race around the world. She was in the Santa Rosa Mental Institution at the same time as Hurley. After the Tailies merged with the Losties, Libby got into a relationship with Hurley. She was shot by Michael in the Hatch and bled to death.

The Weekly Deleted Scene - "A Deal’s a Deal"
Deleted from "Outlaws"
[Kate and Sawyer return from their boar hunt.]
Kate is returning from her boar hunt with Sawyer and she's arguing about having carte blanche with Sawyer's stuff.
KATE: A deal’s a deal.
SAWYER: The deal was for toiletries.
KATE: No, carte blanche, whatever I want. And I want the gun.
SAWYER: I didn’t kill the damn hog.
KATE: You said you wanted help to find it, we found it.
SAWYER: [stopping] Jack asked me for the gun two days ago. That why you came on this trek? To do your doctor boyfriend a favour?
KATE: You asked for help, I helped you. You don’t like the deal, it’s not my problem.

Lost wins at E! Online’s Tater Top Awards Show
My friend The ODI was lucky enough to be at E!Online's Tater Top Awards. Below is his blog post from the event. Looks like the fans picked Lost in most of the categories. We'll have the full results here later when they are published by E!Online. For now here is The ODI's summary of the event.
Yes that is right all...I said the Tater Tops Awards...
What the hell are the Tater Top Awards you ask....?? Well they are E! Online with Kristin's annual TV awards show.....think of it as a fun version of the Emmy's some even see it as a spoof, but at least the people that matter....the fans get to vote for who should win...
There are your traditional Best Drama/Comedy/Actor/Actress categories, but also some fun categories such as Best Kiss/Chemistry/Baddie/Line and so forth....
For those of you that do NOT know who Kristin is....well she is one of the few lucky reporters that has a chance to visit sets of various TV shows including LOST and usually gets the inside scoop and spoilers first...
So about the Awards Show.....I was one of the lucky few that had a chance to attend (thanks to Ilsa with Lost-Forum.com) and be apart of the whole show at the E! Networks Studios...!!
It was a great time and LOST was the Top winner brinning home a total of 8 Golden Taters....including Best Drama, Baddie, Kiss, Chemistry, Shocking Moment and a few others....plus the coveted Top Tater Award for most awards won....!!
I did meet Kristin and she was a great host and is a wonderful person....I even got some on screen love AND was able to hand Kristin this year's TOP Tater Award that went to LOST...!!
Not too sure how much of me you will get to see, but I was wearing my long sleeve orange ODI T-Shirt, so at least you will see my hands and arms....
In between takes Kristin spoke with us and she even told me about a little bit about Daniel Day Kim's (Jin) Bday Bash with the crew and how fun it was...she said Kim is a great singer and that Josh Holloway's (Sawyer) wife is "crazy, crazy in a good fun way!!"

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 11 & 12 (**Closed**)
While the votes weren't very close at all, reading your comments shows that yesterday's matchups weren't the easiest decision to make. In the end, Juliet and Kate were victorious, sending Sun and Mikhail to the great Character Cup hereafter.
But the insanity hasn't stopped yet, has it? There is still one more Main vs. Main matchup left in Round 2. But it isn't tonight, though we do see a pair of main character in action. I'll let you all do the math on that one and figure out what it means.
On to tonight's matchups! As I said, there's two main characters involved, though not against each other. In the first matchup, we're forced to play "Who's Your Favorite Other," as the head honcho takes on one of his minions. Will Ben snuff out another opponent, or does Richard Alpert have what it takes to topple his boss?
In the second matchup, another Other takes on an Other-killer. Will Tom go the distance and spoil Hurley's momentum, or will everyone's favorite plus-size jokester have yet another victory to hoot about?
Let's find out! :-)
Richard Alpert
Status: Other (Alive)
Richard is a member of the Others but was a part of the 'Hostiles' that inhabited the Island before DHARMA. He assisted with the Purge. He traveled off-Island to recruit Juliet and to provide a live video feed of her sister. He appears to be one of Ben's right-hand men but also seems to support a change in leadership. He was last seen leading a group of Others to the Temple.
Full Profile
Benjamin Linus
Status: DHARMA/Others (Alive)
Ben was born in Oregon, and complications at his birth resulted in the death of his mother. His father joined the DHARMA Initiative, bringing Ben to the Island. Ben established contact with the ‘natives’ and carried out a purge on his own people. Since then, he has been the leader of the Others. He is very smart and very dangerous.
Full Profile
Tom/ “Mr. Friendly”
Status: Other (Deceased)
Tom was a member of the Others. He was first seen when the Others attacked the raft and abducted Walt. He also appeared in the jungle with a warning for the Losties, drawing a boundary line for both groups. He was among Ben's staff on Hydra Island and was sent to the Lostie camp to abduct several women. There he mt his fate when he was shot and killed by Sawyer.
Full Profile
Hugo “Hurley” Reyes
Status: Lostie (Alive)
Hurley was once a patient at the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute, where he first heard The Numbers from Leonard Simms, which he used to play the lottery, winning millions. Since the crash of Flight 815, Hurley has helped around camp, had a brief relationship with Libby, ‘built’ a golf course, and tries to keep everyone in good spirits.

He traveled off-Island to recruit Juliet and to provide a live video feed of her sister. He appears to be one of Ben's right-hand men but also seems to support a change in leadership. He was last seen leading a group of Others to the Temple.

DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 9 & 10 (**Closed**)
How about that! We finally had two close matchups for a change. But sadly, though all four characters seemed to be well-liked, only two were able to move on to Round 3. So, congrats to Walt and Charlie. Christian Shephard and Jin both managed to make the decision making difficult for us, but they just couldn't quite pull it off.
With the conclusion of these matchups, we are already halfway through Round 2! Exciting as that may seem, it also means that some harder choices are looming ahead of us in Round 3 and beyond. In fact, I teased you all in the comments that tonight's matchups would include yet another gut-wrenching twister. Maybe it's just me, but it just doesn't seem nice of the hat to pit Sun against Juliet in only the second round.
That's right, matchup #1 is Sun vs. Juliet. Both are strong female characters and both have their followings with fans. Who's going to win this cat fight?
In the second matchup of the evening, we see the man with 9 lives (er, well maybe just 2) going up against the Losties' resident convict. Mikhail vs. Kate is sure to make for another interesting day of voting and commenting, of which there was no lack of in the last 24 hours.
Enjoy!
Sun-Hwa Kwon

Sun is the daughter of an industrial mogul in Korea. Her parents tried to find her a worthy suitor, but she met Jin by chance and they fell in love. After Jin began working for her father, Sun became unhappy with her marriage. She secretly learned English and planned to run away. Since the crash, Sun has grown in her freedom, acted as translator for Jin, fatally shot Colleen and is now pregnant.

Juliet was recruited by the Others for her promising work with fertility treatments. She signed on for six months of work with the Others, but Ben refused to let her leave until she made it safe for the Others to have children on the Island. She oversaw Jack's time on Hydra Island and killed Pickett so Sawyer and Kate could escape. She has since defected from the Others and lives with the Losties.

Mikhail Bakunin

Once a Soviet soldier, Mikhail was recruited to the Island, where he became the operator of the Flame station for the Others, gathering information on anything they needed from the outside world. DarkUFO Character Cup- Round 2, Matchups 7 & 8 (**Closed**)
While many of us Arzt fans feel that his loss to Ms. Hawking was the first true upset of the tourney, we have seen the first significant upset in the form of part-timer Danielle Rousseau taking out main cast member Claire Littleton. This just goes to show you that even main Losties are not safe from elimination, though Claire did keep it reasonably close.
The second matchup was much more predictable. Our Sawyer was no less brutal with the original Sawyer in their Cup mathchup than he was in the brig of the Black Rock. Rocketing out to the highest margin of victory so far this round, James Ford reigned supreme over Anthony Cooper in the Battle of the Sawyers.
Tonight we get a little taste of what's likely in store for future rounds- seemingly difficult decisions between strong characters. The first matchup is pits someone's son against someone's dad. It's Walt vs. Christian Shephard.
The second matchup is where the heartache will lie. In a matchup that may stir up some debate, Jin will try his luck against the very popular Charlie. Will the Korean topple the Brit, or will sympathy for Charlie's death carry him through to the next round?
We'll find out in about a day, once you've all voted. :-)
Walter “Walt” Lloyd
Status: Lostie (Unknown)
Walt grew up with his mother, never knowing his biological father, Michael. When Susan died suddenly, Walt's step-father contacted Michael, begging him to take the boy. Many have described him as 'special.' Walt was kidnapped from the raft by the Others and held captive for some time. He was last seen being allowed to leave the Island with his father, after Michael cut a deal with the Others.

Some of these have been seen before but there are a number of new ones that I'd not seen myself personally. Thanks to Sky One and Lost Media for the files.
